Whitney Houston, The Campaign
submitted by: Chris
date: Feb. 20, 1999
source: UK Advertising in MusicWeek

There is a full page spread for the new single, INRBIO, in Music Week this week (on sale until Wednesday 24 in the UK). It shows the picture of Whitney in the beige hooded top and has 'The Campaign' written at the top. It has a lot of information about what Whitney promotion is going on in the next month (although none is very specific). This is the full advert:

THE SINGLE; It's Not Right But It's Okay 22/2/99:

  • Massive radio airplay and club support
  • Promotional visit inc. TV performances at The Brit Awards and TOTP
  • National and regional radio interviews (i've heard one - on Radio 2)
  • National megasite, 4 sheet and railing poster campaign
  • Capital Radio advertising
  • Network Chart Show
  • National Press: The Sun & The News Of The World
  • Massive retail support
  • 300K Database mailout
THE ALBUM: My Love Is Your Love:
Heavy weight mass market campaign including:
  • 1/3 - 14/3 TV: GMTV National, C4 National, ITV London, ITV Central, National Press; The Sun & Daily Mail
  • 15/3 - 29/3 Radio: Capital Radio and Winning Weekend Promotion Key Independent Local Radio stations and Network Chart Show
  • National Press: News Of The World and The Mirror.

Looks like a great month in the UK for Whitney fans! I'm not sure what some of this stuff means above but if you can get Capital Radio i'd listen all the time from the 15th March onwards and keep a video ready to tape the advert for the album on ITV and Channel 4!

Most Whitney fans will have already recieved the info, through the post for the single. Hopefully BMG do what they did for the album and send more!
