MTV Asia's Most Wanted submitted by: YEOH, Seng Soon date: December 15/98 source: MTV Asia's Most Wanted Last night (14 December 1998, around 9:30 PM Malaysian time), I caught Whitney Houston on MTV Asia's Most Wanted. This is a TV programme by MTV Asia that plays videos requested by viewers. And last night, Whitney co-hosted the show with Mike Kasem (a veejay who is also the son to Casey Kasem) and they only played Whitney's music videos. Whitney was there to be interviewed by Mike during the interludes and she read all the letters of requests. Whitney looked very tired and she was not as articulate as she normally is. She rarely looked directly to the camera or to Mike. She mostly glanced down or up or around. But Mike was partly at fault for not asking enough interesting questions. But Mike did ask one good question that all veejays ask each of their guest artiste. On behalf of all her Asian fans, Mike asked Whitney if she is planning to visit Asia anytime soon. Whitney replied by saying that she was just thinking about it. So, she is trying to make plans for a concert tour in Asia (though not a definite thing). Whitney went further to say that "Asians are very appreciative. They appreciate it whenever we come for a visit." I am sorry to report that I missed the 1st half of the show. But will definitely keep my eyes open for a repeat because there could have been some interesting questions with interesting answers during the 1st half. As for her looks on the show -- it was the exact thing like the photo taken with the Brazillian interviewer on Rachel's photo gallery. You know, the one where her neck-length hair's colour is like the colour on the "When You Believe" music video, and that she wore a white blouse and a black jacket. The surroundings also looked the same. I suppose Whitney did not only talk to the Brazillian interviewer and Mike Kasem on that day. That could explain why she seemed so tired during the show.
