In celebration, an elegant ``Season of Hope'' affair will be held to recognize the humanitarian efforts of Clive Davis and co-honorees Barbara Walters and Tom Hanks. The event will take place on Monday, November 30th at the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center. A dazzling array of performers were just announced including Arista superstar Whitney Houston, Bad Boy/Arista's rap impresario Sean ``Puffy'' Combs, and a special surprise guest. This esteemed award from AmFar tops off an already brilliant year for Clive Davis. Not only is Arista enjoying its best year ever, the undisputed 'King of Contemporary Pop' has again given birth to our brightest new pop stars. This year alone we've witnessed the explosion of Monica, Next, Sarah McLachlan, Deborah Cox and Five, not to mention the ascension of Usher and Outkast on LaFace, and the entire Bad Boy family including Puff Daddy, Notorious B.I.G., Mase, 112 and Faith Evans. In fact, Arista maintained anywhere from five to eight hit singles of the top 10 for the majority of the summer. And this week, the excitement culminates as the release of Whitney Houston's first studio record in eight years impacts the world. One of the foremost leaders in the battle against AIDS, Clive Davis has donated over $300 million to AIDS charities over the past 15 years. A man whose passion for music is met by his passion as a philanthropist, Clive has been the recipient of many Humanitarian honors from organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League, The City of Hope, TJ Martell Foundation, American Cancer Society, Gay Men's Health Crisis and Mayor Dinkins who proclaimed June 6, 1992 ``Clive Davis Day'' in New York City.
