Whitney Houston knows how to cause a commotion.

The diva shocked partygoers when she showed up as the surprise guest at the Gay Pride Pier Dance off the West Side Highway on Sunday night. Houston's appearance was so hush-hush that Heritage of Pride organizers didn't know for sure that she was coming until she pulled up in a black Mercedes sedan.

The singer, dressed in a simple black tank top and shimmering Dolce and Gabbana pants, belted out her hit "My Love Is Your Love" to the crowd of 7,000, which included "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart, currently starring in the Off-Broadway play "bash."

Also at the pier was Houston's hubby (and notorious party animal), Bobby Brown, who didn't seem too bothered about the warrant for his arrest issued by police in Florida last week after he violated his probation on a 1996 drunken-driving charge. Brown stood in the back, dancing with his wife and wiping her head with a towel.
