WH Duet with Mariah Carey submitted by: Rob N. date: Sat, 18 July 1998 from: Billboard Online in Industry Insider As further confirmation of the Whitney/Mariah duet, Billboard Online's Keith Caufield responds to a corresponding letter in this week's "Ask Billboard" section. The duet, which will be heard over the end-credits of the Disney film "Prince of Egypt" will indeed be produced by Face and will be released as a single this winter. There is no mention though of the record label, Arista or Columbia (Mariah's label) or another imprint.
My source has confirmed with Babyface that he is
indeed producing the duet featuring Whitney
Houston and Mariah Carey. The two are scheduled
to record the theme song for the Dreamworks film,
"Prince of Egypt," later this month. As expected,
the two singers will not be in the studio at the
same time. Recording separate tracks seems a
standard practice for divas of this stature. If
you will recall, Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion
also recorded their duet separately.
