Fourth Annual International Achievement in Arts Awards
submitted by: Lisa D.
date: Monday, October 12, 1998
from: Access Hollywood

As I'm sure you have seen, the build-up for today's ET segment turned out to be disappointing. They just repeated the clip from Friday in terms of her new album.

Access Hollywood was much better, going backstage to Whitney's dressing room for an interview. Whitney said that Bobby actually pushed her to record again. She said, "My husband was pushing me. He said, 'Baby you need to sing now. Come on, you need to sing'--because I'm singing around the house all the time...so I thought, OK I'll do this."

Bobby also said she had "three more songs to do," and once that was completed, we'd hear the finished product. Both ET and Access Hollywood referred to the project as her first studio ALBUM in eight years. There was no mention of a greatest hits package, although we can't really tell how many songs there are at this point based on this interview.

In terms of the MC duet, Whitney said, "I just really met her, and we just got to know one another. We hit it off so well that we're friends. I care about Mariah. Mariah cares about me." She also said, "Mariah is Mariah and Whitney is Whitney. The two came together and you'll hear it yourself." Access Hollywood also said that in the coming weeks, they will show Whitney and MC in the studio.
