FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--June 1, 1998--The challenge was created when she acted upon her desire to take her spiritually inspiring music to as many ears possible. Without giving a second thought to what the elusive "they'' might say, CeCe Winans - one of America's most gifted voices - went into the studio with producers from R&B and hip-hop music genres to record "Everlasting Love''. The album, her first for Pioneer Music Group, represents an evolution in the sound her fans are used to while staying true to her uplifting message and vision.

"What About You'', the new single from "Everlasting Love'', will be released to radio on June 9 and is expected to heat up alongside the temperatures of summer. "What About You'' was produced and co-written (with Winans) by Grammy-award winning talent Tony Rich. The lilting ballad caresses the ear with heart-warming sentiments that everyone can relate to.

As major plans are made for the debut of "What About You'', CeCe Winans is getting ready for major performances that reinforce her importance in today's music. She will host the PBS series "In Performance at the White House'' where she will be joined by President and Mrs. Clinton and other dignitaries as she performs songs from "Everlasting Love'' and from her extensive body of musical work. During part of her performance, Winans will be backed by a 100-member choir from the President's hometown. This pre-recorded event will be telecast nationally on PBS in mid-July.

Winans is also gearing up for performances at The Songwriter's Hall of Fame Awards, where she will share the stage with Whitney Houston in a tribute to Diana Ross, and The Goodwill Games in New York City.
