Alpharetta's lowest profile residents Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston popped into Frankie's Sports Grill on Roswell Road early Tuesday night. From what patrons spilled to Buzz Central, there was a definite damage control vibe in the air as the cuddling couple ordered a green apple martini for Whitney and a beer for Bobby. Most recently, the singers have been in the news after Houston placed a 911 call claiming that Bobby hit her. When police arrived, the singer had marks on her, and Brown had fled the premises. Last week, Brown was charged with battery. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 7.

We're told Whitney had a small dog in a carrier and that the twosome momentarily moved to the music that was playing for the after-work crowd. "Everyone kinda left them alone," Frankie's manager Joe Atkinson told Buzz. "There were no issues whatsoever. They acted just like regular, normal people." Buzz Central translation: Houston and Brown were acting completely out of character.

While Brown has frequented Frankie's before, this was the first time Atkinson can recall seeing Houston. Dime-dropping diners said Houston was "looking rough" and had circles under her eyes (we can only assume that, like the rest of us "regular, normal people," Houston has been enduring the rigors of holiday shopping).

Atkinson said the couple signed autographs for the Frankie's host on duty prior to venturing back out into the December evening.
