Party time with Bobby Brown submitted by: Terri, Joi, Rachel source: The Atlanta Journal and Constitution Date: February 12, 2003 By RICHARD L. ELDREDGE Buzz Central was experiencing post-NBA All-Star withdrawal Tuesday until our phone jangled with this piece of party news: Bobby Brown's 34th birthday bash is back on. The Atlanta-based singer and his wife, Whitney Houston, met with the staff of the downtown nightclub Level 3 on Tuesday morning to discuss bringing the party there Thursday, starting at 10 p.m. And yes, the event will be open to the public. The party had been scheduled last week at Club Fuel in Buckhead. When Houston's father, John, passed away on Sunday, the couple put the party on hold and flew to New Jersey for the funeral. "Whitney's doing fine and they're both excited about this party," rep Debbie Ireland said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for fans to see them up close and personal before she goes on tour." The couple also wanted a chance to say thank you to fans and well-wishers who offered "prayers and condolences on the recent passing of Whitney's father." Ladies will be admitted free until 11 p.m. Admission is $50 per person. Invited guests include L.A. Reid; Brown's former New Edition bandmates; Ja Rule; Mystikal; and red-hot rapper 50 Cent. The couple will hold a pre-event press conference at Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Site design by: Dolphin Webpage Designs © 1996-2003 |
