Capitol Recording Artists 'SUNDAY' Return to Newark High School Alma Mater On Friday for Hometown Performance

Dec. 15, 2000 -- Five-girl, New Jersey based group, SUNDAY, will return to their high school alma mater to perform songs from their forthcoming self-titled debut on Friday, December 15th at Newark Technical High School in support of a pep rally scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Comprised of New Jersey-born sisters and cousins Notasha, Tawanda, Tiffany, Stacey and Shakira, SUNDAY is managed by Robyn Crawford and Whitney Houston.

The first single, "I Know" is bulleted on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart this week at #30, and also bullets onto the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales Charts at #9 following a performance at last week's "R&B Jam" all-star concert at Madison Square Garden, sponsored by New York radio station KISS-FM and featuring other performers such as Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Sisqo and The Temptations. The group's forthcoming self-titled debut, which will feature the groups "R&B, pop and rock with a Gospel feel" sound, is scheduled for release in March 2001.

In a single review of "I Know," BILLBOARD MAGAZINE ..."Fans of rich, intricate vocal arrangements are offered a tasty feast here, wherein there are enough twists and turns to leave the listener happily dizzy...and the leads' vamps are pretty nifty too.."

Don't miss the chance to witness this remarkable homegrown talent! TV crews are welcome to interview and/or shoot B-roll footage of SUNDAY and their performance.
