Twist Magazine Cancels a True Story About Whitney
submitted by: Quencie T. Thomas
Date: August 24, 2000
Quencie T. Thomas is the fan who was fortunate enough
to interview Whitney on MTV's "Fanatic" at the time when the "My Love
Is Your Love" project was released. Whitney spent extra time talking to
Quencie that day and she has since met with Whitney again on several occasions.
A teen magazine called "Twist" interviewed Quencie earlier this year for
an article about stars' relationships with their fans. It was to be a
positive article printed this month. But when the article did not appear,
Quencie was told that it had been pushed down to December, and that Whitney
would no longer be included because she is "too controversial."
Below is the information on "Twist" from Quencie:

"I would really appreciate just a line or two to the magazine's editors
about how uncool it is to pull the Whitney piece on the lame excuse that
she's "too controversial" (as told to me by Lois Sankora) -- simply because
Whitney really does love and take time out for her fans. And regardless
of how many untruths the tabloids are printing about her -- the love she
has for her fans should be noted. Any Whitney support on this would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
P.S. I have met Whitney on more than a few occasions -- and the best thing
about her is that her inner beauty is so genuine that it matches her vocal
talent -- smile. A true sweetheart she is, no diggity!!!!!!!!!!"
