Baltimore's 92Q FM morning show repeated the false New York Post story
about Whitney's July 1st Atlantic City show. They seem to be a very Whitney-friendly
show so take care to be polite. They'd probably be interested in correcting
it. You can e-mail the station at marc@bigphatmorningshow.com.
It's possible he may not be the DJ who mentioned it, but he is part of
that show and there are two other people, his sidekicks.
Hi Lisa,
I just called them and they listened. I think that they may have even
recorded me. I hope people realize how much damage this one false article
has done and how far it has travelled. Here's the gist of what transpired:
LisaD emailed me to tell me that this station repeated the NYPost story.
It is so funny that this is my local r&b station. I just have not been
playing the morning show.
I called just now to set the record straight. It was quite ironic as they
were playing SSDC. I spoke to Marva and told her what I was calling about.
She was like'Wow', she put me on hold and came back with the main morning
DJ (I'm not sure if it was Mark or Troy).
I told them that I was at the concert and told them that that story was
completely false and fabricated. They were like, 'Wow, unbelievable.'
When I told them that she looked great and put on a wonderful show, they
were like, 'That's good, we're glad to hear it.' I went into more detail
and mentioned that the only cover was Aretha's 'It Hurts Like Hell' from
the WTE soundtrack. The DJ said, 'That's a killer song,' and I responded,
'...yes it is and she tore it up, in fact she sung it at all of her U.S.
concert dates...'
If you live in D.C or Baltimore, listen to 92Q, I believe they recorded
me. They just may play it over the air. You may also call them at 410-481-9292.
This is a very friendly Whitney station, they play her all the time. [Note:
They did record her true story about the show and they aired it on their
station today!]
You can also email them at:
marc@bigphatmorningshow.com
The DJs' names are Marc, Troy and Marva. Their show is called the Big
Phat Morning Show.
Just remember to be polite.
