They Said It Would Never Last.. But It Did

In the 25th Special Anniversary Issue of People Magazine, there is a section entitled "They Said It Would Never Last.. But It Did". The section deals with a number of celebrity marriages and relationships over the past 25 years that people thought would never last, but did! Among the 5 couples selected are Whitney and Bobby.

There is a little picture of them together, a cute one of him hugging her from behind. The paragraph reads as follows: "Talk goddess Oprah got right to the point: What, she asked at a November taping, did Houston see in hip-hop husband Bobby Brown, 32? Despite frequent ups and downs, as well as Brown's occasional scrapes with the law, he'd lay down his coat for her, assured Houston, 35, who had daughter Bobbi in 1993. 'It's going on seven years. They said it wouldn't last six weeks.'"

The article also has a segment ..."And It Didn't", featuring 4 celebrity couples that broke up (Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley, Bruce and Demi, etc.).

I just think it's nice, and refreshing, that there is finally a piece recognizing that Whitney and Bobby ARE still together, instead of all the negative press that they usually get about their relationship.

The section is on page 284-85.

Considering the history making impact that Whitney has had on the music industry, I thought for sure that they would have more on her in the magazine.
