Here's an acticle I found in the September 1998 issue of Sister2Sister. I thought it would be of some interest to fans in other countries that can't get this magazine. First of all Jamie Foster-Brown (no relationship to Bobby Brown) is a well liked and trusted reporter, who the Stars respect and know that she will always report their story in their own words. She also owns the magazine.The company is based in the Washington, DC area. Ok, here's the story, starting with a picture of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.

There are so many rumors out on Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston that folks don't know what to think. First there is the rumor that they would announce their separation. That was supposed to happen June 15th. It didn't happen. Then there was the rumor that Whitney was on the radio in New York talking about how she and Bobby are spicing up their sex life. I found that highly unlikely. When is the last time you heard Whitney just go on the radio just for radio's sake? Does she even go on radio when she has a movie or album to promote? What station? What deejay? Nobody could tell me. The last rumor I heard said that there was a sex tape in circulation of them. As of this writing, no one had seen it . What is going on?!!

The press is just dying for something ill to happen to them. It amazes me. People wishing for others' misfortune just so they can have a headline is a big part of why, as I reported two issues ago, Hillary Clinton feels that the press in our times is endangering its own future.

When mainstrem media people tried calling Whitney's office about the separation rumor, some of them told me Whitney's people hung up on them or said no comment. Fortunately, I was able to get some kind of answer from Whitney's camp. They told me point blank that it wasn't true. They said,"This is just another storm we have to weather."

At the time all of these rumors had their day in the dark, Whitney and her folks were getting ready for Whitney's European concert tour that was scheduled to start in June and finish up July 11th. I was told that Whitney also was spending time rehearsing. Bobby was in L.A., trying to pull his acting career and next album project together. Bobby's record company, MCA, wants to bring in super producer Teddy Riley, Babyface, and other folks who worked on Bobby's "My Prerogative" album. I hope bygones are bygones between Bobby and Babyface. Bobby said some disparaging things about Babyface on MTV a while back.

Just a week or so before the separation rumor came out, My girlfriend saw Whitney on a redeye flight from L.A. to Fort Lauderdale. She was all by her lonesome except for her baby girl, Bobbi Kris. She said Whitney was very up and friendly, laughing and talking, No bodyguards. No nothing.

It's hard to maintain a relationship if you are a celebrity in the eye of the public these days. It's celebrity terrorism. The media is all in your bathroom, between your legs and in your pocketbook. And now there's the Internet where anybody can say anything and it gets taken for gospel. Forget about it! There is no real Internet police holding folks accountable for the rumors they can inject into our computers.

While all this brouhaha was happening Bobby's mom called me. It's very hard on her to read, see and hear constant negative stuff about her child. She said, however, that they are all doing fine, including Whitney.

Folks say I favor Bobby in what I write and say about him. I've known him since he was 12 years old, and it's true I love him, with his wild butt, but I don't do the things he does and I don't agree with him doing them, either. Trust me, I do fuss at him in private. And trust me, there is so much good inside of him, he is definitely worth saving.
