A Civil Action submitted by: Jeff S. date: Friday, Sept 29/98 source: Entertainment Weekly website Whitney Houston returns with a double CD; Bobby Brown serves jail time by: Sandra P. AnguloHouston is stepping back into the music industry with a double-disc greatest hits collection available November 11. The CD will have at least four new songs, including a duet with Mariah Carey and cuts produced by Missy Elliott, Babyface, and Jermaine Dupri. Despite appearing on 17 soundtracks, tributes, and other albums, Houston has not released a CD of new music since 1990's "I'm Your Baby Tonight."
Meanwhile, Houston's greatest love of all has begun serving a five-day
jail sentence for drunk-driving and property damage in Fort Lauderdale.
A repeat offender, Brown was found guilty in January of driving under
the influence during a 1996 accident. On top of the five days, Brown has
to pay a $500 fine, spend one month in a residential substance abuse
treatment center, attend DUI school, agree to random drug and alcohol
testing, and perform 100 hours of community service.
