New Whitney Sets By Year's End

In today's "Daily Music News" of the Billboard online site, Melinda Newman relays some info. about Whitney's new album, as revealed in her interview with Clive Davis (president of Whitney's label, Arista Records). Whitney will be recording next month for a NEW album that will drop BEFORE the end of the year. Davis states that it will either be a greatest hits package with a few new songs or an actual studio album. This is good news, since Whitney has not released a full length album since 1990's "I'm Your Baby Tonight".
Look for new releases from Whitney Houston and the late Notorious B.I.G. before the end of the year. In an interview with Billboard's Melinda Newman, Arista president Clive Davis revealed that the project from Houston, who goes into the studio this month, will be either a greatest-hits collection with additional songs or a complete album of new material. The Notorious B.I.G. set, which will come out in November, will be the second project released since his death in early 1997.
