Whitney is number 1 in "Los 40 principales" this week
in Spain with "INRBIO-Johnny Vicious remix"
And newspapers wrote about WH last Sunday, telling that she was the
star in Soul Train and they talk a few about Kelly Price and R Kelly.
(submitted by: Charo R.)
"It's Not Right But It's Okay" slips to No. 9 on
this weekend's broadcast of the World Chart Show
(March 27/28, 1999). Since I missed last week's
program I do not know where the song peaked. Two
weeks ago, it rose a notch to No. 7. So, by
following the movement trend of the track, I would
estimate its peak position (that is, if it does
not reverse course) to be either No. 6 or No. 7.
Also, "When You Believe" creeps slowly down and
lands at No. 18.

According to ARIA Chart, In Australia, INRBIO has debuted at an
uninspiring #90 on the singles chart. This
actually isn't too bad considering no advertising
or airplay for the single. It seems that Arista
is consentrating on the US and Europe (at least
it's sort of working there). Maybe one day it
will be Australia's turn. I'm still waiting for a
ballard (ILFTB, UYCB of YNSA0 for sucess in
Australia.

Heartbreak Hotel is finally getting some
attention in mtv asia. It jumps from #13 to #11
only after 3 weeks after its debut. Note that I
Still Believe slipped from #1 to #2 and it's been
in the charts for 8 weeks. Request the video at
mtvasia.com eventhough you're not from asia!

Additional Billboard update for the week ending
April 3, 1999: "My Love Is Your Love" dips down 8 notches from
No. 49 to No. 57 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Perhaps Whitney's appearance on the upcoming Soul
Train Awards will spur album sales and drive it
back up the chart.

Whitney made jet (jet march 29/99 issue) top 20 album and singles:
Top 20 Single: HH #1
Top 20 Album: #8 MLIYL
(submitted by: Lydia H.)
According to Soudscan:
- HH drops 1 to #3 on the single sales chart.
- HH sold 122,500 units.
- Cher is still #1 on the sales chart, and Busta
Rhymes is at #2.

According to www.ifop.fr,
The album gains still 4 places in France and it's
currently at #18 !!!This is a real come back
because 2 weeks ago it was in the forties
places!!!
And the other good news is that the new single HH
enter the charts at the 10 position !!!
This is due to the big airplay on 2 radio and the
channel M6 which plays a lot the clip.
French seems also to appreciate the dance version
of HH.But I strongly hope that ARISTA will
release INRBIO (dance mix ) because it will be a
succes in France

I just checked Billboard Online, #1 in Billboards
singles chart. It is confirmed that HH is #1 on
the Dance Charts.

UNBELIVABLE!!!! HH enters the official french TOP 100 Chart at
#10!!!! Usually a single enters around #40 then
climbs up...not our diva! More than this the album
is on its way up :it is ranked #18. Finally, BMG
France's strategy pays back : a heavy airplay on
radio ( & not only on two radios as i've read here) before releasing the single out... Go on french
fans, this one will definetely be #1!

This week's Billboard Charts are as follows:
- H/H remains at #2 on the Hot 100 Singles Chart
but without the bullet.
- H/H slips to #2 on the R&B Chart
- MLIYL slips from # 26 to #28 on the R&B Album
Chart.
(submitted by: Trevor P.)
The Soundscan(Sales) Charts are as follows:
1) H/H slips from #2 to #3
2) MLIYL slips to below # 50.
(submitted by: Trevor P.)
Unconfirmed reports are that H/H inched up from #2
to #1 on the Dance charts. It is also reported
that INRBIOK will be release/rereleased to radio
shortly. That silgle may therefore begin to climb
the Billboard charts soon i.e. when airplay starts
to increase.

Despite INRBIO's slip at number 5 last week Whitney
has reached the top of the spanish charts again.
She is currently at number 2, and this it
happening without any promotion of Ariola BMG
here in Spain. I`ve seen an advertising of the
single in the german music channel Diva TV. What
would happen if Ariola BMG decided to do
something for Whitney?. It will be a miracle and
of course THE BOMB!!!!!!!
(submitted by: Elana)
In the UK Top 40 Radio 1, Whitney has dropped just one place to number 7
this week, in the official UK sales top 75, with
INRBIOK!!
This single has done unbelievably well, it has
seen a number of new entries jump in front of it,
but all have now dropped away!! This week was
especially tough with a lot of good new entries!!
(submitted by: Craig S.)
In the UK charts MLIYL drops 8 places to #13 this
week in the album chart, it's still selling well
though and is at its 3rd highest ever position.
INRBIO drops only one place to #7 on the singles
chart in its 4th week. On the R&B chart, INRBIO
remains at #1 and Heartbreak Hotel (on import
sales only)dips 4 to #29. On the dance albums
(which don't actually mean anything) MLIYL falls
from #2 to #8. When You Believe re-
enters the UK Top 75 singles at #68 this week too!
(submitted by: Chris W.)
According to Dot Music, Whitney's performances on the UK Charts this week
are as follows:
- * Top 75 Singles: INRBIOK slips from #6 to #7
- R&B Singles: INRBIOK remains at #1
- Top 20 Singles for 1999: INRBIOK inches up
from #7 to #6
- Top 75 Albums: MLIYL falls from #5 to # 13
- Top Dance albums: MLIYL moves downward from #2
to # 8
* Note: There were two (2) top 5 debuts on the

The numbers for Hh look very good. It received a
bullet for both airplay and sales and even though
airplay remained stationary at #7 it was bulleted
and it was up in ariplay on several charts. As you

dance track for HH, this week it rises by 1 to #3.

It appears Whitney is set to earn the triple crown next week, as "Heartbreak Hotel" moves up from No.
3 to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music / Club Play chart for the week ending March 27, 1999. If
the single could ascend to the summit of this chart and the Billboard Hot 100, as well as spend
an eighth big week at No. 1 on the Hot R&B Singles & Tracks list, then she will simultaneously top 3
major charts. [and Arista will probably make a press release to gloat about it]. Incidentally, by spending 7 weeks at the top of the R&B chart, "Heartbreak Hotel" is Whitney's third-longest running No. 1 single. "I
Will Always Love You" spent 11 weeks at the pinnacle in 1993, while "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" had
an eight-week reign in 1996.
(submitted by: Rob N.)
Just as an aside, "Exhale" (along with Monica's
double-sided single, "Before You Walk Out Of My
Life" / "Like This And Like That") kept Mariah and
Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" from reaching No. 1
on the Hot R&B Singles (as the chart was still
called in 1996), keeping it at No. 2 for several
weeks (if I recall correctly, it was 9 weeks).
Now, with "Heartbreak Hotel" at No. 1, Mariah's
double-sided "I Still Believe" / "Pure
Imagination" is in the top ten. However, this
week, the single slips from No. 3 to No. 4, as
Busta Rhymes' (featuring Janet) "What's It Gonna
Be?!" blasts into the top ten at No. 2 and Faith's
(featuring Puff Daddy) "All Night Long" rises from
No. 5 to No. 3, giving Ms. Evans two songs in the
top three.

Whitney's INRBIO--falls one spot to no.6 t UK
chart, her album up 5 places to no. 5. her dance
album rises 1 to no. 2, in r and b INRBIO still no. 1, HH up 6 notches to #25.

Whitney continues to bullet towards the pole
position. Hopefully she should take over from
Cher by next week. This week's preview of the
Billboard charts are as follows:
- H/H remains at #1 on the R&B singles charts
for yet another week.
- H/H remains at #2 , with a bullet, on the Hot
100 singles charts. Sales increased to over
127,000 this week.
- The Album moves from #42 to #49 on the Top 200

Whitney made an impressive overall showing on
the UK Charts this week. The details are as
follows:
- Top R&B Singles: INRBIOK #1
- Top 75 singles: INRBIOK #6
- Top Dance singles: INRBIOK #7
- Top Dance Albums: MLIYL #2
- Top 75 Albums: MLIYL #5
- Top 20 Singles for 1999: INRBIOK # 7
Analysis:
Item 1: INRBIOK spends its third week at #1 on
the R&B Charts
Item 2: Although INRBIOK slips from #5 to #6 on
the Pop Singles Chart, it could still rise on
that chart if no high debuts happen next week.
Item 5: What can I say! After more than 17 weeks on
the charts the Album seems to be finally
targetting the pole position.
Item 6: This means that MLIYL is the 7th highest
seelling single so far, this year, in the UK
eventhough it has been released only 3 weeks ago.

According to my source H/H could capture the top
spot on the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart
within a couple of weeks. This projection is
supported by the following details on the charts:
- H/H inches up from #3 to #2, with a bullet, on
the Billboard Top 100 Singles Charts
- H/H remains at the top of the R&B Singles Chart
- MLIYL slips from #41 to #42 on the Top 200

Whitney's doing well in Austria! Although Austria
is a heavy ground for Whitney, her new album has
jumped up the charts from #36 to #13 this week.
This is likely due to her fabulous appearence at
"Wetten Dass" although INRBIOK has not shown up
in the charts yet. And more: WYB is defending its
position in the Austrian Top 10 for many weeks
now and is still rising. In Switzerland it's
occupying #2 for some three weeks now, and HH
peaked at #4 in Slovenia some weeks ago.
