Screen Captures: Check out the video for "All

earliest appearances wearing an initialed catsuit! Plus revisit
the great video that garnered Whitney's first MTV award nomination
in probably over 10 years, "Heartbreak
Hotel."

Music Charts
Preview For This Week: Whitney's MLIYL single remains at No.
5 on the Billboard Hot 100. More details to come soon for sales
and airplay... (Thanks Ralph M.)
There's a magazine in Brazil call "Caras" (in English it means
"Faces") that includes a two-page article about the
recent metropolitan museum party that Whitney attended. Whitney
is quoted as saying, "I've just came to see my friends." There
is no picture of her with the article. (Thanks Roberto)

New
Screen Captures: If you haven't seen it in a while, check
out the screen captures from one of Whitney's best videos, "I'm
Your Baby Tonight" (European
version). Plus, take a look at what
I think is an unofficial video for "Love
Will Save The Day!" I believe it aired overseas as a video
at some point. It's from Whitney's live performance of the song
at the 1988 Special Olympics. Also, for anyone who was wondering,
yes there is an official music video for "I Belong To You."
It's very similar to the music video for "My Name Is Not Susan."
It never aired in the U.S.
Rolling
Stone Magazine is running another "Battle of the
Bands" Whitney vs. Mariah poll. Let's vote for Whitney! She's
way behind because we didn't know about it until now. If we work
together, we can easily put her over the top! Just be sure to delete
your cookies! (Thanks Leah)

Chart News: ILFTB scores a slew
of additional radio station adds, also year-end airplay statistics
and Canadian radio station news! Read the details...
I heard a remix of ILFTB on Saturday night at a club in Boston
called Buzz. I'm assuming it was Hex Hector's version. The crowd
was into it. It looks like Arista was serious when they said it
would be issued to clubs before December 31st. (Thanks Brian)

For anyone who may have wondered if there is a remix of "Could
I Have This Kiss Forever" on the Japan import of Enrique
Iglesias' CD: Apparently there is no such remix! On the new
Enrique Iglesias album, the Japan-only bonus track is a remix

Note
Especially for Fans Who Can Write in French: RTL-TVI and Club
RTL in Belgium have played Michael Jackson concerts, a Queen concert,
a program about Celine Dion and Divas Live 1998, but nothing about
Whitney! We should send an e-mail
to them that says (in French):
Vous avez diffusé des programmes sur Michael Jackson, Celine Dion,
Queen. Nous voulons voir Whitney Houston!
This means, "You've played programs about Michael Jackson,
Celine Dion,Queen. We want to see Whitney Houston! (Thanks Marie-Eve)
Fans who are fluent in French
should feel free to write whatever
they want to these stations, as long as it's polite! Even fans who
cannot write French can change the message around slightly
so it doesn't look like we're all writing exactly the same message.
Thanks! |

Check
out Whitney's resume from when she was about 19 years old!
It includes a few items that many people probably don't know about!
Last night Whitney's pre-recorded performance of "I Learned From
The Best" was rebroadcasted at the beginning of the program "Top
of the Pops." We
can vote for Whitney as the show's best performer here!
She's currently far behind! Remember to delete your cookies! (Thanks
Eddy VB)
Whitney's ILFTB is at No. 4 on "The Lick," an R&B program on MTV
Europe presented by Trevor Nelson. (Thanks
Eddy VB)
This week ILFTB was 'de Alarmschijf' at Radio 538 (a big Dutch radio
station). It means they recommended the song and they think it willl
be a huge hit. They played it every three hours. (Thanks Zuzy)
Dutch TV channel FOX 8 will broadcast "Waiting To Exhale" on December

From Billboard: Arista assures Dance Trax that club DJs will
receive a promo-only 12-inch of the ILFTB Hex
Hector and Junior Vasquez remixes
by December 31. In other words, expect to hear this club-classic-in-the-making
in every club on New Year's Eve.
Enrique Iglesias' new album has been released in Manila, Phillipines
and the duet with Whitney is being played at a few local stations.
I've already heard it about ten times in three days. (Thanks
Paul J.) Remember-- we still should not request this song
on the radio yet!

Unfortunately, Whitney did not win any trophies at tonight's Billboard
Awards. She also did not attend the awards ceremony.
It
looks like ILFTB is off to a good start, because WBLS,
New York's biggest R&B station, debuted the song and has been
playing it all day long. One of the DJs was raving about it and
said Whitney's singing was so good, it gave him chills! (Thanks
John G.)
Whitney
is No. 1 this week by far on French
radio station Fun Radio's Fun
List, this time with
"It's Not Right But It's Okay." The vote is based on 25 songs
and everyday 4 or 5 of them are played between 4 and 7 p.m. The
results are given on Friday. None of Whitney's web sites asked
the fans to vote this week, so her No. 1 position is not due to
fan participation! The
French really love this song. But
even if Whitney will win this Friday let's all vote for her here.
You can have 5 votes -- the first vote counts for 5 points, the
second for 4 points, and so on. (Thanks Julian S.)
Whitney's "I Learned From The Best" is this week's World Charts
Foundation No. 1 Runner Up single, meaning that it is the top
song that doesn't yet have enough points to enter their Internet
Singles Top
100 chart. We can get Whitney on
that chart by voting here.
Just click on their "Complete List" button and highlight
all of Whitney's songs that are listed in a row. Click "Done,"
and they are then added to your voting list. Then just submit
your votes! (Thanks Enrico S.)

According to Billboard
Online, Bebe Winans has signed with Motown Records and will
release an album in June 2000 that will include a duet with Whitney!
BeBe is also set to sing with Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder and
his sister CeCe. He says the album will "incorporate [my] signature
style, but be more R&B- and pop-flavored." (Thanks Brian)
Today VH-1
mentioned that all next week it will show the Top 90 videos of
the 90's. VH-1 said Whitney's "I Will Always Love You" made a
strong showing due to the fact that it is a very soulful song,
it was sung well and it also had Kevin Costner in the video. They
didn't say whether any of her other videos will be included in
the countdown. (Thanks Carolyn)
Also, we can vote for Whitney as VH-1 Artist Of The Year!
By voting, you also enter yourself into a VH-1 contest.
As reported yesterday, Clive Davis will be inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer.
According to CD Now
Allstar News: The timing of Davis' induction is particularly interesting
in the music industry today because BMG, the parent company of
Arista, and Davis are feuding over his employment contract. BMG
claims he is too old at 66 to be in charge. His induction might
very well be a political move by the Hall of Fame, which obviously
recognizes the valuable assets and importance Davis has brought
and still brings to the industry.
At Amazon.com's Auction site: Whitney's first music
video compilation tape, plus 3
cassingles and her first album on cassette.
According to the Platinum
Club, the Metropolitan Museum in New York City celebrated
the opening of its new exhibit, "Rock Style," with a gala opening.
Whitney donated the red dress she wore when she won her first
Grammy for "Saving All My Love For You" in 1986, the white Grammy
gown she wore when she won for "I Will Always Love You" and the
Fairy Godmother dress from "Cinderella." She reportedly
attended with Dolce & Gabbana last night. The show will travel
to other U.S. cities so check your local museum to see if it will
come to your city.(Thanks Carolyn, Rachel, Michelle S.)

Here is an incredibly positive
article about Whitney's charity gala this past weekend, which
sounds like it was a huge success...
The Power of Requesting: MTV
in the U.S. aired Whitney's full performance from the recent MTV
Europe Music Awards tonight! There can be no denying that our
e-mails helped to affect their decision. A great deal of thanks
go out to all the fans who made their voices heard, including
even fans overseas who were generous enough to write in despite
the fact that they were not affected by MTV's editing. If you
want to thank MTV for seeing the light, you can e-mail
them here! And if you missed the show, ask when they're
going to air it again!
Excellent News: In the latest issue of Radio
& Records Magazine, "I Learned From The Best" is the most
added song in the country on the Adult Contemporary charts with
19 adds. So far there are a total of 37 AC stations playing the
song. The news is even better on the AC Urban charts, where Whitney
makes her debut at No. 30 with a total of 27 Urban AC stations
playing her new track. It looks as though the song is off to a
promising start at both AC and Urban AC stations. R&B stations
should be next to follow. (Thanks Tony V.)
On
the Charts:
U.K. chart news, plus Canadian chart and radio station updates
For German Fans: The ILFTB remix CD apparently is not available
in Germany yet. A music store, "MediaMarkt," said it would be
released next Monday, December 13th. (Thanks Tobias H.)
Whitney will be featured on MTV
News 1515 this weekend. The topic is about the artists who have
toured this year. She also will be featured in their special 1999
The Year In Rock. It airs for the first time December 11th at
3:30 p.m. (Thanks Carolyn)
According to CCM,
the Stellar Awards 15th Anniversary will air on TV stations around
the country on January 8th. The article says, "Look for encores
of the Winans at Oprah, Whitney Houston's duet with mother Cissy,
and Kirk Franklin. (Thanks Mervyn)

Clive
Laughing All the Way To... The Hall of Fame. If this is
likely confirmed tomorrow morning, the timing is impeccable. According
to FOX News, Clive Davis is going to be inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame this year. The Hall of Fame does not induct
many non-performers, so this would be quite an accomplishment.
Also, another article regarding Clive's fight to maintain control
of Arista Records. Read the full stories...
According to the New
York Daily News, Clive Davis will be profiled in February's
Vanity Fair. The article says, "Investigative journalist
Robert Sam Anson spent months interviewing Davis and those around
him. But even Anson was blindsided when BMG boss Strauss Zelnick
moved to topple Davis last month. Anson wrote a scathing profile
of Sony Music chief Tommy Mottola for the mag in 1996. Look for
this one to be much friendlier to Davis." Don't be surprised
if it at least mentions or quotes Whitney.
Whitney is featured on the cover of the December 13th issue of
Jet Magazine. She and Denzel Washington are cited by the magazine
as one of the most memorable movie couples of the decade. The
article inside only has one large paragraph dedicated to their
roles in "The Preacher's Wife."

I
went to Whitney's American Cinema Awards benefit. She hosted the
entire event and was done up in Dolce & Gabbana! She looked fabulous

Anthony, Steven Seagal, Star Jones, Patrick Swayze and Michael Jackson!
(Thanks Nick M.)
MTV Asia has a Whitney contest going on right now... (Thanks

An update about MLIYL on New York radio, plus German chart news!
Divas Live/99 has just been released in Taiwan. Divas Live/99
will air January 1st at 1 a.m. for the first time on Asian MTV!
Separately, the "My Love Is Your Love" Limited Edition 2CD set

advertisements for the album or any single on either TV or radio.
(Thanks Philip)
MTV Europe

Maharaj V.)
The Whitney Weekday Request Campaign
will be shifting gears back a bit more to the MLIYL single in
light of the song's gains on the Hot 100 chart. However, we should
still continue trying to make more phone requests than e-mail
requests for the song at this point. Just click on the link or

USA Today Reviews Enrique

Kiss Forever" duet...
U.K.'s Capital
Radio has this to say about the "I Learned From The Best"
single: The Queen of Smooch succumbs to a traditional
ballad following two funkier more up-tempo hits. Digging out her
best ballad vocals she opts for a very atmospheric Bond-theme
style which is way cooler than the soppy ballads we're used to
from La Houston.
Dutch TV channel RTL4
will rebroadcast Divas Live/99 on December 25 or 26. The station
aired parts of the show previously in November, and showed Whitney's
