According to Bilboard,
Shania Twain's 1997 Mercury Nashville album "Come On Over"
arrived at 13 million; the set ties Whitney Houston's 1985
Arista debut as the No. 2 album by a female artist. Alanis
Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" holds
the top slot, at 16 million units. [THIS IS A LIE!!!!]

Report on VIVA TV Special. May 1999, Germany. The entire special is overdubbed in German. Most of this TV special is extremely boring, with the rehashing of all the 80's stuff we've seen a million times before. But they also show some behind-the-scenes footage of the MLIYL video shoow, which was shot in L.A. on April 18/99. There is a lengthy interview done on the set of the MLIYL video (WH looks exactly like the video). Whitney sings during the course of the interview (jokingly) "I got up this morning, I vacuumed my floor". Very cute! Of course, WH complains about the media and talks about her "wonderful" husband... but some parts of the interview reveal WH's feleings about her fans that she never discussed before. Whitney says:
- <Years ago, I didn't need the [voice/throat medecine]. All I know is I opened my mouth and it [my voice] was there.>
- <I think people take the sequence and the gowns too seriously... the long dresses, the hair and the make-up... too seriously.>
Are you guilty of this? What do you think?

WH live in Mannheim, Germany: Before Whitney entered the stage, she was announced by a guy and he says that Whitney herself requested the concert to be filmed ! I don`t know if that means that we MAYBE will see it some time on TV...Furthermore the concert was presented by VIVA, a very big German music channel...Probably I`m just dreaming that they could show it...

Book: "The Picture Life of Whitney Houston" by Gene BUSNAR. 1988. ISBN: 0-531-10498-2. I just bought this 63-page book about WH. It contains 24 full page photos, all from teh 1980's. 10 of the pics are in colour, the rest are in black and white. Over half of these pictures I had never seen before. Most notable is a *glam* pic of WH at the 1986 Statue of Liberty something-or-other celebration; pics of WH live in concert 1985-86; five (5) b/w candid photos of WH from 1984 before she was famous -- one of which WH is sitting on the steps of her house; another at church w/Cissy; and another with her family and cousin Felicia Moss, making a face that says "huh?!?". Priceless! There is also a pic from 1 of WH's many photo shoots for the debut album cover -- you can't help but laugh at this pic cuz WH looks 12 years old, but she has a ton of make-up on. If you see this book somewhere, it is worth purchasing!

Further explanation about the $100K lawsuit against Whitney from Wall Of Sound.
According to Billboard, "I Learned From The Best" will be the next single. This
article says late fall, but I read on another page that the single will be released in December
as a double A side single for "I Learned From The Best" and "I Bow Out". THAT info came from the
Junior Vasquez website.
It's either in the new releases section or the
news section. Thought you'd like to hear a ballad was
going to be the next single. And I do love "I Learned From The Best".
(submitted by: Jonathan B.)
Whitney Houston - I Learned From The Best/ I Bow Out to be released as double A-side follow up to "My Love Is Your Love" Single at the end of the year. No word on who will be remixing either song. Classic Whitney remixes by Junior Vasquez ("How Will I Know?" and "Greatest Love Of All"), David Morales ("Love Will Save The Day"), Hex Hector ("I Will Always Love You"), Club 69 ("Greatest Love Of All") and Johnny Vicious ("So Emotional") will probably be released as b-sides to the current singles. Eddie Baez, Junior, Hex, Johnny Vicious, and Club 69 have also probably been asked to remix songs from the new album as well.

E!Online News: Officials to Whitney: Pay Up!.
Chart update: The MLIYL CD single debuts at #81 on Billboard.
Trouble on the horizon... NYC's WBLS Radio reported this morning that "they" are
suing WH for her cancellation of the Concord, CA, show. I think the figure I heard was $ 15
million. They didn't make it clear who "they"
was, whether it was the Concord Pavilion, or someone else.
(submitted by: Ed S.)
From E!Online: ALWAYS R.S.V.P.: In Concord, California, city officials asking Whitney Houston to fork over $100,000 for costs involved in a August 1 show she canceled at (literally) the last minute.

of the nominees. Usual suspects Gwyneth Paltrow,
Cameron Diaz, and Vanessa Williams are also
nominated, however atypical choices like Candace
Bergen, Meryl Streep, and Katie Couric also
made the nominee list. Go vote for Whitney in

Whitney concert in Poland showed polish tv
during this concert 17.5% people was
watching this. It was about 10 millions people
It is big success (population of Poland is
39 millions). Better was only pilgrim of Pope
to Poland. They didn't say how many people watched
this. So maybe in reality Whitney was better.

Charts, it is No.1 all out of Europe! I can't believe that, I
guess that is the magic of the title track! When will Arista
release it in US and Canada?

Interesting 'diva comparison' article from Down Under.
As apart of the 60 second news report this
morning on Power 98 (radio), Whitney held a program to
honor Michael Jackson. The proceeds would all go
to charity (I forget which one). So the event
comes to be and Micheal no shows her leaving her
hanging. I wonder how she feels to be stood up
after she did it to her many fans all over the
world.

Interesting chart analysis from L.
Arista's Weekly Word: [what an overstatement!]
WHITNEY HOUSTON - 1999 Belongs To Her!
My Love Is Your Love, the smash title track
from Whitney's Multi-Platinum new album, will be
available as a commercial single September 7th and includes
a remix by Wyclef (feat. Dyme) and the Thunderpuss 2000 Club Mix.
The MLIYL album also features the Gold hit "It's Not Right But It's Okay,"
the #1 Platinum "Heartbreak Hotel" (featuring Kelly Price and Faith Evans)
and her Academy Award winning duet with Mariah Carey, "When You Believe."
IN STORES NOW!
(submitted by: Michele B.)
This lame boxset is also part of Arista's lame efforts to promote the MLIYL song.
Could this promo CD single have any INRBIO remixes we haven't heard before? I know that Chris Cox and Barry H. are the duo that make up "ThunderPuss 2000". I wonder if they just changed the names of the remixes. Can anyone offer any info?
(submitted by: Carlos C.)
As I write this, GLOA just came on on Adult Contemporary radio. They have not played any song off of MLIYL yet. They are waiting for a BALLAD to be released. Do you copy, Arista?

New polling question!
Whitney Houston is nominated for the Comet, a
German Music Award from VIVA TV, in the category
"best international act". The award show will take
place August 21st and will air in German TV August
22nd. Maybe Whitney will show up at the ceremony
as her European tour starts a week later.
