According to Entertainment Wire: Whitney Houston will launch her World Tour '99 with a special Oprah Winfrey Show scheduled to air nationally on June 21st, 1999, the eve of her opening performance in Chicago at the Aire Crown Theater. A July 3rd engagement at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark has just been added to the U.S. tour. International concert dates have been announced that will encompass 29 shows in 15 countries commencing on August 22 in Gdansk, Poland and ending in Kiev, Ukraine on October 9th. In the May 1999 issue of "Black Hair" magazine, they have a special edition for their 15th year anniversary. They have a "look back" at past magazine covers. It appears that WH was on the cover on the January 1986 issue. They write that it was WH's very first national magazine cover for her debut album. Whitney is said to have discussed "fashion, hair, and makeup", or something like that. They had some small photos of a young model WH on the cover as well. I wish I had the whole interview to share with you. If anyone out there wants to type it up (January 1986 issue of Black Hair mag) or scann it, we'd all love to see it. All 67 outfit were designed by the famed and trendy Italian designers Dolce&Gabbana. Whitney choose the designers to make one of a kind outfits just for her. During each show, the Diva will have no less than five costume changes. The collection is very funky will vivid colors and jeweled belt. THe collection is designed to mix a match so no two show will the same outfits. Besides the wide assortment of capri pants, short mini-shirts and colorful fur, they're breathtaking gowns for Whitney to deliver those powerful ballads. Ok it seems that the past weekend was for INRBIO promo cause this sation in NYC called 103.5KTU (which never plays Whitney songs) was playing that remix every single minute of the clock and guess what tickets were handed out to whoever calls. Whitney will back in Paris! She will give a concert on September 21st, and when all the tickets will be sold out, they told me that there will be a second show, it's almost sure!! I just called several CD stores in Ottawa and asked for the INRBIO CD single and none of them had it (they never carry any of WH's latest singles, here!) but the guy said that they've gotten ALOT of requests for it. So even if WH isn't selling, at least there is some interest which is better than nothing. Wyclef was on radio station WBLS (a large urban station) in New York this morning . The DJ asked what he had been up to and he told them that he was "Sleepy because he was up ALL NIGHT doing NEW remixes for Whitney's MLIYL" . Could you believe that on the radio today (CHFI-98.1 FM, Toronto) they played Whitney's ILFTB. It sounded amazing and they did not interrupt the last note. I have no idea how long or if they are playing this song on a regular basis. This station is an adult contemporary one and have always been loyal to old Whitney. In the July 1999 issue of Spin Magazine, Whitney is mentioned in the column "Backstage Pass" on pg 42. It's actually an interview with Rodney Jerkins. He talks about producing new songs for LeAnn Rimes and Michael Jackson and about Jennifer Lopez. "She's gonna be like a Latin Janet," he says. "She's got an amazing butt, but past that, she works hard. I'm not saying she's a Whitney Houston, but her voice is good enough to make it work." Later, he's asked who is the biggest diva of them all. "Whitney. I stayed in her house [while recording MLIYL], and I'd be sitting around waiting, and she'd finally call and be like, 'I ain't fellin' it today.'" Another good week reletively speaking for Whitney in the UK!!

Well well it was a BIG weekend here in NYC for all Nippy fans as this radio station 103.5 KTU was giving out tickets every few minutes for the Nippy concert. That song INBIO..was overplayed i should say and it is still not only on this station (which never played/plays Whitney songs) but other sations as well. Every now and then it was on. According to the Marshall Arts Entertainment, there are two other concerts planned for the UK tour apart from the Wembley Arena dates. I just saw a preview at TV for the 1-hour-Whitney Special on VIVA TV tomorrow and they already showed some short parts. The interview was mad during the shot of her latest video "MLIYL". For those, who do not know EYC: They were with Whitney on her Bodyguard tour in Europe. I don't know exactely on which concerts they appeared, but in Zurich/Switzerland they surely did. I found an interesting mention of Whitney in the May 1999 issue of American Vogue magazine. Anna Wintour, who is probably the most influential fashion magazine editor in the world, writes about the styles worn at the Academy Awards in her "Letter From the Editor" page and, out of all the actresses, names Whitney the "most chic". I don't think the magazine is on newstands anymore, but it does include a picture of Whitney in her white Valentino Couture gown. (submitted by: J. H.)

(6-02) Faith Evans was on BET Tonight last night for a whole hour. Whitney's name was dropped but there was really no conversation. She said something like "Whitney helped me by putting me on her album." Then she said, "I love you Whitney!" I was hopin that she would elaborate on Whitney because a caller asked, "Are there any artists that you are going to collaborate with in the future?" But she did not mention Whitney's name. Aren't things going great with Whitney just now, it looks like INRBIOK will go high this week on Billboard and you wouldn't believe how well she is doing in the UK. There's articles saying how much cred she has now, her album is back in the top 10, her INRBIOK single sold 500,000+ and is still 58 on the UK chart after 14 weeks.
