Jet Mag From about 2 months ago: This article was talking about most memorable duets and WHitney and Mariahs duet came up. It said it was so spirit filled and magical that these 2 super divas came together and recorded the song for TPOE. It said it was filled with soul and would be remembered for many years to come. Audio Download Problems? Linda has figured out why you may not be able to download the new G2 RealAudio file. If you use Netscape instead of Internet Explorer to browser the .rm file, it will not work and you just can see some "codes" on your browser window. Then you must save the .rm file to your PC (just choose "save as" on the browser's toolbar), and use this software "Uncook95.exe" to open the .rm file that you saved and run the command "uncook". Then you can listen to the .rm file directly through your RealPlayer G2.

PS: If you are using IE, you won't have to use uncook95. This is just for Netscape users who want to listen to the .rm files. Or else, you may have to try to download the file during off-peak hours (1AM to 9AM Eastern Time). (submitted by: Linda)

From Entertainment Weekly Mag: VH1 was turned down for Divas Live 99 by both Diana Ross and Lauryn Hill. They also asked Donna Summer, but she was booked. TLC didn't show because T-Boz fell ill, but VH1 felt it wasn't a big loss for them. For the finale of "I'm Every Woman", Tina Turner wanted to get home, Cher felt she was done with her set, and Elton John didn't want to sing that particular song. Cher supposedly sang live to a track (yeah, right). The show drew 9.5 million viewers, 50% more than last year's show. After reruns, VH1 believed the show would be seen by 18 million people total. VH1 may take a year off from Divas and attempt to 'reinvent' the show but if it is done next year, divas on the wishlist include Madonna and Annie Lennox. (submitted by: Nicole X.?)

Ohmigod! I finally got my hands on the Holland "Suprise Show" which was taped in Feb./99. It is very much like all the "surprise shows", in which an unsuspecting fan gets to meet their idol. The Dutch fan who got to meet WH is named Bianca. After WH sang INBBIO (one can recognise Trevor P. and Klaus-Peter W. in the audience), Bianca went backstage with WH. She interviewed WH for several minutes and got an autograph. It was just her, WH, and the TV host backstage -- no audience. Bianca told WH that she wanted to have a tattoo of WH's face on her arm. Whitney said "Really? Wow! Lemme give you a hug!"... Then WH hugged Bianca and gave her a peck on the cheek. Then, some week(s?) later, Bianca was back on TV, this time to show her new tattoo. YES! She got a HUGE tattoo of WH's face on her back. The tattoo covers almost all of the left side of Bianca's back!!! I thought I was Queen of the Whitney Tattoos, but no more! I Bow Out to Bianca! You wouldn't believe it if U didn't see it for yourself. This is the picture that Bianca has on her back (not the whole thing, just WH's face). It was REALLY well done and it REALLY looks like WH, unlike many caricatures I've seen of Nippy... (submitted by: Rachel D.)

I was flipping through the channels and heard a bit of Whitney. Naturally I turned back, and it was a commercial on the PAX network. Whitney was singing "I Go To The Rock", and the commercial was for "30 Years Of The Dove Awards". It was also called "Gospel's Greatest Moments" or something like that. It is a VHS Cassette for $19.95 plus S&H and features the best performances on the Dove Awards over the years - including Whitney!! I think this would be a great item for Whitney collectors. I'm also thinking that on this tape they will play the full performance of IGTTR, rather than the performance aired on TBS that has ruined half-way through because of rolling credits. "My Love is Your Love" track is Whitney's new single here in Spain, and I think is gonna be the next single in the rest of Europe. This single is gonna be played all through this week as one of the most important song in Los 40 principales. It is one of the most important radio stations here. Watched City-TV at six tonight, they had a segment on Diva's Live and did not mention Whitney, Brandy, Mary, Tina or Chaka. As far as they were concerned the show belonged to Cher, Elton and Leann -- can't believe it! E.T. was also disappointing: all they kept showing was Elton, Cher and a little bit of Tina. According to the Associated Press, Whitney Houston says she's the aggressor in her marriage to Bobby Brown. «Contrary to belief, I do the hitting, he doesn't. He has never put his hands on me. He is not a woman-beater,» the singer and actress said in the May issue of Redbook. «We are crazy for one another. I mean crazy in love, love, love, love, love. When we're fighting, it's like that's love for us. We're fighting for our love.»

Brown's arrest history includes drunken driving and battery against women other than his wife.

Brown was sentenced in 1998 to five days in jail and a year on probation for drunken driving. On Monday, a judge in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., put him back on probation for showing up drunk to do his time.

Ms. Houston conceded that her singer husband is "a party guy" who "likes to hang with his friends. He likes to dance with different people." But she said she knows he's loyal to her because «I checked him out when he wasn't even looking.»

Houston wore two different Gianfranco Ferre ensembles for her VH-1 Divas Live performance. One was a stunning red leather suit, the other was a black silk cadi skirt with a silver arm cuff. In addition to last night's performance, Ms. Houston wore a black leather bustier gown in her latest video, "It's not right, but it's OK," and a silk cadi mini dress covered in silver studs to the Soul Train Awards.
