Planet Groove says that Whitney hatching plans for greatest hits album!! At Whitney Houston NYC press conference last week a question was asked as to when she plans to release a GHP. Arista President Clive Davis was quick to supply an answer. "Without question the follow up album will be the GHP and that will be the next release after this album at some point. On BET's Weds. episode of "Planet Groove", they went behind the scenes of the WYB video. They showed WH & MC singing together, walking together, and taking pictures. Then they interviewd Whitney, she talked about the signifigance of the song and how much she liked Mariah. SEPTEMBER 1998: Deborah Cox, who's 2nd album was released Sept 29th, has her own website (not done by Arista) on which she actually reads and RESPONDS to her fan mail and to the praise she gets!!! She also has a RealAudio preview of 3 songs off her new album, to which she adds an intro -- complete with her feelings about the song and it's producers. She shares alot of HERSELF in her webpage. BRAVO to her management for using the web to get closer to her fans, without actually meeting them in person. Now isn't that what the web is for?!
Deborah actually mentioned me by name in her 'chat room'... which almost gave me a heart attack. Of course, now, I am gonna hafta buy her CD on the very first day and promote it shamelessly. It's amazing what a little fan-appreciation can do.
OCTOBER 1998: Deborah mentions me AGAIN on her website! Not only that, but she mentionned me FIRST! I am in shock! I am overjoyed! I am just -- AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Rachel got a new bootleg video, which is a show called "Biographie" which ared on French TV in 1996. The video includes many interviews and I had never seen about 70% of these interviews. I think this is much better than the VH1 Introspectives which mearly repeat all the same interviews we've already seen. The French Bio included the music videos that I didn't even know exist: "Hold Me", "We Didn't Know", and a cheezy vid for "All At Once", but not in their entirely. They also had a snippet of "You Send Me", which WH sang with her mom on that first TV apperance of Merv Griffen. I didn't know that existed... Also, it was really interesting to hear WH talk about love, her love life and being in love. WH has never been that open with American audiences... And the piece de résistance: a 20-year-old WH makes her first appearance on the most popular French Talkshow when a drunk Serge Gainsbourg says to WH (in front of the audience): "I want to f**k you". Both Whitney and the host of the show are shocked [picture]. I've waited 4 years to see this. I can't imagine what WH was thinking and feeling at that moment.

On last night's Entertainment Express on Easy Rock 97.3 in Toronto, they were talking about the DUET, and how it's already a hit. Anyhow, Whitney and Mariah are scheduled to perform WYB together on a US TV network, to be named later, during a special on the Prince of Egypt, airing December 13th, 1998. I guess we can rule out ABC, since it's owned by Disney. Can anyone else verify this news? (submitted by: Shauren)

KMEL in San Francisco just world premiered "It Ain't Right, But Its Okay". I'm at work, but have a radio at my desk and was able to tape most of it. I'm going to try to make an MP3 file of it and send it to you when I get home. I'm not sure of the quality of the recording since it's a rinky dink radio, but hopefully it will be clear enough to give you and the other fans an idea of what it sounds like. It DEFINITELY sounds a lot like a lot of stuff out there. This song also got airplay in NYC on WBLS 107.5. (submitted by: Damon)
