VH1 (in the U.S.) will be airing "The History of

be at least a few WH videos in there.

Yahoo! Internet Life are getting together with the Intel New Music festival to create the first annual Online Music Awards. It's like a wired version of Music Video Awards. They want to know who your favourite artist is and who has the best website. I know Celine may win because of her enduring popularity (Titanic), but I want Whitney to give her a run for it. I need your help. There is a Surfer's Choice Award and your vote is what counts. Tell the world that Whitney is your favourite musical arist by voting at http://www.yil.com/musicpoll
The deadline is July 8, so go nuts! Winners will be announced on July 15 at the awards ceremony.
(taken from: The Team Celine Mailing list)
Whitney will give an interview on wednesday july 1st to the french radio NRJ.
I think it will be in the evening around 8.

ONLINE VOTING BOOTHS:
The first booth is called "Favorite Female Singers". WH is currently ranked #5.
The second booth is called "A Weekly Music Survey". WH is currently ranked #1.
The site allows up to ten votes per day per voter (the 2nd of the above sites
only allows 5); the booths are incredibly easy to set up, so I created 2
booths for Nippy:
"Whitney Houston" - vote for fave WH song.
again, each voter can add a song(s) if they'd like;
"Whitney albums": - vote for your fave album.
Feel free to put this on your site(all of the above links, if you'd like) so
people will know that WH is alive & well & has a legion of fans. Thanks.

CECE WINANS' TALK SHOW!?
Whitney Houston will be appearing on her
friend Cece Winans talk show. The following is
an excerpt from an article in the Chicago Sun-Times.
(submitted by: Eugene) Rachel is amazed that so many celebs are so eager to throw their hat in the talk show arena, despite the exceptionally high rate of failure. If Vibe, Magic J., and Keenan couldn't make it, what makes Cece think she will? Can someone just bring back Arsenio?!?!?

WH's charity activities page has been updated. (Thanx to Chip H.)
Fan Asylum's website has been revamped. They detail their mission statement, which includes , courteous customer service, as well as other lies. Why is this company thriving?
«Providing state-of-the-art, creative, innovative and informative fan club materials
and services that reflect the personality of the artist and respond to the desires of the fans
» Yeah. Have you seen The Platinum Club Website? "state-of-the-art"? Puh-lease! I once ordered an item from the Platinum Club thru their website. ONE MONTH after I ordered it, it still wasn't mailed to my house. I called the PC and after being on hold for 20 minutes, -- long distance -- they told me that they hadn't checked thier online orders, yet. [i.e. at least 4 weeks w/o checking thier e-mail]. Efficient? my a$$.
« Providing friendly, courteous customer service which consistently exceeds expectations and builds customer loyalty. » After I signed up with the fanclub, I only recieved 3 fanclub letters in 8 months. I called to ask what the hell was going on, since other fans had told me about their fanclub letters. After being on hold for 20 minutes, long distance, the women on the other end didn't give a rat's a$$ that I never got any letters. They said they have "problems" in their mailings and they tried to blame it on the postal service. Funny how I get mail from fans all over the world and never has anything gotten 'lost' in the mail EXCEPT for every letter the PC club has sent me. Coincidence? puh-lease!

It seems to be confirmed that Whitney's supporting artist is Connor
Reeves (for the UK concert).
Connor is a blue-eyed soul boy from the UK, having written for the
likes of Tina Turner and Anita Baker in the past. He released his
debut album last year. When interviewed by VH-1 a few months ago, he
sadi he learned to sing by listening to Whitney on his walkman, in
the park, and emulating her!
I am pretty sure he will at least present Whitney a song he has
written for her. Whether she accepts is a different matter.

Whitney is going to collaborate with Missy Elliott, in ther next album:
MTV's 1515 music news program featured a brief interview with Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, who said that she will be writing some songs for Whitney's new album. First, Clive Davis' people approached her, then Whitney called her, saying, "What's up, girl?". At first, Elliott thought someone was playing a joke on her, but said Whitney was cool. She says the songs will still be the same Whitney, but she'll be giving it more of a street sound.
(submitted by: Lisa D.)
Rachel is not sure about this collaboration. Missy's album is OK, but sometimes, Missy says some nasty things, such as dissing Patti LaBelle as well as other sexual inuendos which don't bare repeating, you need just see the lyrics.

NEWS FROM THE PLATINUM CLUB: Whitney Houston has been forced to cancel her upcoming show in Rotterdam due to scheduling conflicts. She very much regrets that she will not be able to perform there.
We also want to make it very clear that this cancellation has nothing to do with health or performing. Whitney is in fine health and singing as strong as ever.

New polling question!
From the German Music TV station VIVA:
The video-tape of Pamela Anderson and her husband
Tommy Lee is the most popular one of his kind.
Will there soon be a competition in the racks of
the shops?
Such a tape seems to exist of Whitney Houston and
Bobby Brown, too. "We are searching for this film"
admits the dutch Porno-king Barney Nygaard.
"Stuff like this is very in demand" - rumours
about the marriage Houston-Brown were not
confirmed - Whitney mysteriously: "My music should
speak for itself."
(submitted by: Sylvie R.)
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE! This is obviously nothing but a tabloid fabrication.
There will be more news about Bobby and Whitney. They will be on Entertainment Tonight(ET) at 7:30pm. Check your local TV listings.

Last night, Entertainment Tonight showed a very short clip of WH practicing for her European Tour. She looked fine. The tour starts next week!?!
OHMIGOD! People Online has a new section about Weddings. They list the best wedding songs. You'll never guess what songs are on the list. It is unbelievable that after all these years, that song is still popular even tho it was never a big hit.
What wedding reception would be complete without an unabashedly romantic ballad by Celine or Whitney or even the Carpenters? Silly, sappy, overplayed and inarguably haunting, Wedding Songs That You Hate But Can't Get Out of Your Head are as mandatory as a toss of the bouquet. Don't believe us? Listen to our Audio Clips of 1998's Top Ten Most Requested Wedding Songs.
TODAY! In the morning news on the radio, they said that WH *is* divorcing Bobby. Their jokes started:
TOP 3 REASONS TO DIVORCE BOBBY: -
Whitney would have to do 3 movies a year in order to pay for Bobby's laywer bills.
- Whitney was no longer being invited to the A-list events because ppl feared that WH would bring him along.
- I didn't catch the last reason!

The Wall of Sound reports about WH's divorce.

this is what Entertainment Tonight had to
say about Whitney and Bobby word for word.
"Whitney Houston is not commenting Today
on published reports that she and husband
Bobby Brown are divorcing. The couple
have been married nearly six years and
Houston is busy getting ready to kick off
a European tour which starts saturday."
So we still have no idea if the divorce is going
to happen or not.
(submitted by: Eugene)
The Mr. Showbiz website is having a "Water Cooler" poll about WH's divorce.
According to a Mr. Showbiz poll asking "Should
Whitney and Bobby separate?", the overwhelming
majority voted "yes, they no longer amuse me".
The other choice was "no, marriage is a lifelong
pact". I wish they had a choice that went "yes,
he is a creep". More that 2700 people have
responded so far.
You can vote on the Mr. Showbiz homepage.

headquarters in New York yesterday.
The woman I talked to said Whitney was definitely in the studio, although no
relase date was scheduled for sure.
She also said that when Whitney does drop something, I could interview her.

European Tour Information! All the info I know will be posted in the new European Summer Tour section.

Rachel was offered many rare WH items which she already had (or could not afford). I am sure someone will want to grab some of these posters, press kits, LPs, cassette singles, etc., so I've listed them here. Many items added on June 8/98.

I was watching a program called FAX 57 on MUSIQUE
PLUS (the French version of MuchMusic/MTV) and they
showed 3 minute footage of the Prince Of Egypt
SOUNDTRACK. They mostly showed Nashville artists
recording in the studios. They said that it will
be a country oriented soundtrack. The country
artists that were interviewed said that they
loved the movie. They said that although the
movie will be out in the winter around december,
the soundtrack will be released earlier this
fall. At the end, it was written: Other
featured artists include Mariah Carey, Whitney
Houston, others... It didn't say that it was a
duet but they are both OFFICIALY on the
soundtrack. This is a really reliable source.

She also said she told Whitney and kids "Unless you love God and yourself, you can't love anyone. They have an old pic. of Whitnye singing with Luther Vandross, her cousin Dionne, and her mom. There will be
a little thing about Whitney tommorrow (Wednesday) morning on GMTV, the channel is ITV.

that time, I am not sure exactly what time it will show, so keep you're eyes
glued. I for one will be awake at 6am to see whats happening.
According to my source, show show will be based around what Whitney is doing
right now and I heard they played clips from 'Rodgers & Hammersteins'
Cinderella, feat. Whitney, Brandy, Whoopi and others. So I assume it will
mainly be about the release of Cinderella on Home Video on June 22nd. (in the UK).
