Whitney is on the cover of EBONY magazine... they have an article that debated WHO should play Dorothy Dandridge in the movie that is being planned about the 1940's actress' life. We all know who *we* think should play the part, right?! Other people in contention are: Janet Jackson, Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams.

TERRIBLE NEWS!!!!!
This morning (22/7/97) Ihave bought the daily paper "Il Messaggero" one
of the most important papers of Italy and in at the bottom of the first
page there is an article saying: "Whitney Houston slashed in Capri: the
singer was at Capri (precisely at Marina Piccola) for holidays and was on
a rock looking for a place to dive; she falled down and slashed the left
cheek. An ambulance brought her at the "Capilupi Hospital" were she has
faced a surgical intervent; is still too much early to know if will be a
scar forever". The article says also that "when she arrived at the
hospital was crying and very afraid, had the face covered by a towel to
stop blood". She was in the Mediterraneo on the Yacht "Acquasitan" with
Bobby Brown and her sister. I'm almost sure that this new is true because
"Il Messaggero" is not a scandalistic paper, but an important paper which
most of all talk about politic; however I'll try to find other papers of
todays to find other news. If it's true, I would like to say to Whitney
that we are near her and that I'll never stop to give my support to her
(like all of you) (sorry if my english is not good)

GET WELL SOON, WHITNEY! We love you no matter what you
look like!
Well, this is some more information about Whitney's accident in
Capri. Well, why I was wathching the news they said just recently while
Whitney Houston was on vacation at Marina Piccola she got a scar on her
face that needed stitches. They said Whitney told the doctors that she
got it while swiming and she hit a rock, but the Yacht driver said she got
while on the yatcht. Well, however withney got hurt, I want her to know
that we all are with her in this time of sorrow, and we hope she recovers
from her accident as soon as possible. (submitted by: Erin D.)
Hi Rachel, I wrote you this morning; today in the afternoon I have
bought other 2 important daily papers ("La Repubblica" and "Il Corriere
della Sera") and both talked about this news; also the television news
reported this fact saying that police is not sure that Whitney falled
down from rocks, but they say is possible a fight among her and Bobby
even if the doctor who cured her said that the wound wasn't done by a
sharp object; however he said that he could have been beated. He said
also that almost surely the scar will disappear completly: I hope I can
send you other news even if I think that papers will not talk about this
again!!! (submitted by: Fabio in Rome, Italy)
HEY! Don't go accusing Bobby of this! We have been through this already!

First
Anniversary Celebration! The winners will be drawn in a couple weeks.
Esther knows for a fact that Whitney will be going on a European tour this
fall. My best friend works for a company that organizes all big concerts
and R&B events in Holland and he told me (and he's very reliable) that she
will be here in fall. Bobby Brown is also going on a European tour with
New Edition. (submitted by: Esther K.)

Greatest Hits Video? Gary M. told me that he called Arista and asked if they were going to
release a video along with the Greatest Hits Package... they said "probably."

Clash of the Divas: After WH's appearance on the National Lottery show, the host Dale
Winton slagged her off for her Diva attitude ie. not rehearsing or waving
gormlessly at the end of the show. I think it was a clash of Divas, as
Dale is as camp as can be.
Further this surprise that she and Bobby have got - could it be
the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell movie? (submitted by: Sadiq V.)
Somehow, I don't see Bobby Brown in the role of Marvin Gaye...
