First Anniversary Celebration! It was one year ago that I started this site... Now I'd like to thank all of U for visiting so often and for helping my site grow... so I am giving away some rare Whitney collectors items in a draw. Good luck to everyone!

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular -- Fri, Jul 4
"The Dream Goes On" is the theme of Macy's 20th annual pyrotechnics display over the East River. The Independence Day extravaganza culminates with more than 30 minutes of fireworks set to a star-spangled soundtrack, simulcast on WDBZ-FM (105.1). Featured prior to the explosive finale are Michael Bolton (who performs "Go the Distance" from Disney's animated film Hercules); **************Whitney Houston*********; the cast of Broadway's Tony-winning musical Titanic; and the dance troupe Tap Dogs. Also slated to appear are Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and actress Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess). Tom Arnold hosts.

Magazine: Whitney is in People's Weekly where she talks about what it was like to be pregnant with Bobbi and she said it was the best. There are 2 gorgeous pics,one of mother+daughter and one of mother+father. Get your copy fast because a new issue will come out next week! (submitted by: Lizzybell)

Cinderella Filming: Filming for the Cinderella TV movie will begin the week of July 30. Cinderella will air on ABC on November 2. We don't know the actual air time, but the musical will be a full two hours long! (submitted by: Carlos C. via the Whitney Fan Club Page)

I have been in shock for 3 days now! I watched MTV News and they said that Whitney may not ever get to be pregnant again since she has had so many misscariages!!!!! Sad regard from LizzyBell
I don't know why you are so shocked. Anyone who has suffered a miscarriage has that prognosys... I think the tabloids just ran out of sleeze to print so they had to make a story out of a well-known medical fact.

Everyone keeps talking about this big surprise Whitney and Bobby are planning. Do you think it could be those plans they are making to go on tour together? Someone summited some news on 6/06/97 about a show called Access Hollywood that Whitney & Bobby were on and they talked of plans of going on tour together. Could that be their big surprise? Whitney and Bobby Plan Surprise: On MTV Asia, I've heard news that Whitney and Bobby are planning a showbiz surprise. Spokespersons are keeping quiet about this though. So watch out for a surprise coming to our ways. (from: Step by Step mailing list)

DID YOU KNOW?...
I thought to give you an information that Whitney's song, "All At Once" was a big hit LAST YEAR in Japan because it had been used as a theme song of a popular drama series in the local television here. For that also, it has been one of the top selling single last year. (submitted by: Fahmi)

'Cinderella' Details: Kieran thought everyone might be interested in the latest on the Cinderella movie. This article offers more details. (Airing November 2nd, 1997... "There's Music in You,'' a Rodgers & Hammerstein tune, will be sung by Whitney.)

Movie Rentals: "The Preacher's Wife" movie went from #6 to #8 in the Canadian movie rentals this week.

I have an amazing tidbit of information that most people do not know already. Right now as we speak there is a major buzz in the industry over an amazing remake of a song that industry insiders are predicting will be the longest running single of all time ever. I am from Vancouver and a few of my friends are in the music business.
A producer from here is about to go into the studio to produce the artist for this song. A close friend of mine lives near his studio and many people have claimed they've heard him working on the instrumental arrangements. The song is a remake of the No. 1 song back in the 70's. Can you guess it?
"You Light Up My Life." Yes, it is 100% clear if David Foster will be producing the song but Whitney Houston is scheduled to remake it. Can you just imagine it? It's certainly understandable why the music industry is buzzing about this one. Look at her track record of remakes! That's all I have to share for now. (submitted by: Corey)

No Video: Arista Records says a music video for the "My Heart Is Calling" single is not planned, but that does not mean there will not be one. (submitted by: Gary B.)

Saw this article in one of our popular local (Singapore) magazines...'Whitney Housten deserves all she gets is what we say. Not only has she forgiven trouble-maker husband Bobby Brown time and again, she's lately handed him the keys to a US$175000 white Rolls Royce - only months after he wrecked his new US$100000 Porsche. Now the elated Brown says he'll drive from the couple's Maimi mansion all the way to their other house in New Jersey "just to show off"'... There they go again, the press is out to get Whitney & Bobby!!!

GREATEST HITS ALBUM MURMURS
Now, I've read in a newsgroup a recap of all the diva albums coming out this fall and this was from a Spanish radio station or something so I'm not too sure if it's accurate. Well anyways it says that Madonna, Brandy, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson will be out with their new albums this September while Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits will be out October. I'll give you more news when this develops. But we all know there are 4 new songs said for this and it's a 2CD set supposedly. (submitted by: Gary B. via Bryan's Page)

MY HEART IS BREAKING
"My Heart Is Calling" has been dropped from the hot list on America's Top 70 and has not found a place in the charts after 4 weeks on the hotlist. The fate of this single is uncertain. Releasing a video will always help any single to gain airplay and sales. (submitted by: Gary B. via Bryan's Page)

Now that Mariah Carey is splitting up with hubby Tommy Mottola, the pop diva has expressed her interest in a career change as well. A friend of Carey's told "Entertainment Weekly" that the singer is interested in acting. "She talks all the time about Madonna and Whitney Houston," the friend says. "Whenever she sees them in a movie, she says that's what she wants, too." Carey has been working with acting coach Sheila Gray, who described the singer as having "power and soul" and determination. 'Cinderella' Casting: Singer/actress Brandy has been cast in the title role in an upcoming TV musical production of "Cinderella."

According to Billboard Magazine, Brandy will be joined by Whitney Houston who has been cast as the fairy godmother. "Seinfeld" actor Jason Alexander has been cast as the prince's valet.

The ABC/Walt Disney Television collaboration begins production June 23, with a scheduled airing sometime in November. (submitted by: Gary B.)

Guess What! Whitney has a school named after her! The elementary school that Whitney attended, originaly named Franklin, has now been renamed to The Whitney E. The people at American Visions Magazine came yesterday to take pictures of... MY FOOT for their upcoming August-September issue. This site will be featured in an article about music-related sites on the 'net. They wanted to have a pic of my Whitney tattoo. (!?!?!??!??!)

Single in Stores: The single for "My Heart Is Calling" hit stores Tuesday June 6-10. The B-side is "I Go To The Rock." So far, there are no remixes and the stores tell me they are not ordering a lot of copies since her last singles have not sold that well. (submitted by: Alan M.)

New Cover: Guess what I found at Tower Records tonight ? "The Preachers Wife OST" with a new photo cover it's a photo of Nippy by her self looking up toward the sky. Yes, I bought it this is the third cover that I have gotten and every time they change the cover I'll buy it!!! By the way, there are no new songs on these editions. (submitted by: Alan M.)

Touring Together: Did you happen to catch "Access Hollywood" yesterday? They did a story on Whitney, but I only caught the very end....maybe 20 seconds of it. The guy (I think his name is Larry Mendte??) was interviewing both Bobby AND Whitney.
I think they showed some clips of Whitney in concert, and asked if she had any upcoming plans, and she said that she and Bobby are going to go on tour together. They mentioned that Bobby has three top 10 albums, and Whitney has the all-time best-selling soundtrack (of course :)). (submitted by: NickelsKP)

I think we should all, I included, take a look at ourselves, and see how eager we were to believe that Bobby was a wife abuser.

I, for one, am ashamed that I let the media shape my way of thinking about Bobby.... I had actually begun to believe it.... although I have always been reluctant to dis Bobby.

I would just like to say that we should all be (including myself) ashamed of ourselves about the Bobby hitting WH issue. We all know what the press are like but still we all cannot wait to say "oh its about Bobby again so it must be true". I think that we should give him the same respect we give WH when this sort of thing happpens and say, "well it must be the media talking crap again!". Like we do with Whitney.

Hawaii Review: I finally got a concert review from Hawaii. You can tell Michael had a great time by the number of !exclamation marks! he used in his review!!!

Album Promotion: Hey I wrote to Arista and they've got some new news on the new album and the promotion. Here it is:

ARISTA is by no means done with the promotion of "The Preachers Wife". The reason for the remix ablum is to raise the sales of the soundtrack. People want both the original and the remix. Also there is a promotion going on now that gives the purchaser of "The Preachers Wife" soundtrack a remix single only available through this promotion. (Submitted by: Bryan MusicMan)

And now that most of you are off from school, should look into using the web space already provided FREE by your Internet Service Provider or your school institution to maybe start your own site. The more Whitney Online, the better! FYI: Geocities also offers FREE websites.
