$1M Gig: The UK press report that WH is to net $1 million, from her one gig in
Thailand!
The magazine "Film Review" reports that Eddie Murphy wants WH to
sing the theme song to his latest project "Dr Dolittle". It is a
corny little number called "if i could talk with the animals"(!?)
Whitney has not commented on this idea!.

In Magazines: Whitney is in the may issue of Ebony Magazine...the picture is in
the mother and daughter section. She is at the PW premiere
with her daughter. And also in the latest Essence Magazine issue
twice... it's the one with the singer brandy and her
mom on the cover... they are all great pictures.

New Single: In an article in this week's Billboard Magazine (26 Apr 97), an Arista exec was
quoted as saying that the next single will be "My Heart Is Calling" and
that it will be released around the same time as the movie on home video.

posters (and any other movie poster for that matter) here. The posters are the same size
as those movie theaters get. And they also have 8X10 glossys of Whitney
for sale.
Whitney, Angela, Lela, and Loretta can be seen on Tuesday the 15th on
HBO. Catch Whitney at 9:30 pm in "Waiting to Exhale". It's (well really
Whitney's) GREAT!

'Cinderella' Casting: According to Electronic Urban Report, the producers of the Whitney Houston/Brandy "Cinderella" remake are
hunting for Prince Charming. Brandy will be Cinderella and Whitney the
Fairy Godmother, however who will be Brandy's Prince? They're looking for
a fine brother between the ages of 18-28 who is intelligent, has a sense
of humor, a bit of a rebel, is tall and can sing pop ballads.

The air date for the Essence Awards, with or without Whitney live, is May 22... this from Entertainment Tonight on yesterday's show.(submitted by: CeCe .) On April 6th, they had commercials for Entertainment Tonight, and they mentioned Whitney's name, so yesterday (4/7/97) I tuned in and they did a brief report on the Essence Awards, and they said it would air on May 22 on FOX... hope that helps! =) I was hoping they would show a clip of her or something, but then I read that she couldn't attend :(...so all they showed was a small pic of her :( (submitted by: Nickels.) I just saw on MTV news that Whitney has signed to be in the movie, "Get
Christie Love" a remake of a 70's film in which she portrays a female cop
looking to make a drug bust. She is also in negotiations with HBO pictures
to make the Dandrige film with Halle Berry as Dorothy, but nothing is yet

Singer-actress Whitney Houston has been selected to receive the first
ever Triumphant Spirit Award at the tenth annual Essence Awards April 4.
Houston was honored for her many philanthropic projects, including a
foundation for homeless children suffering from AIDS and cancer.
Essence magazine-sponsored event, which airs on Fox.

I just heard on the radio here in NY that there's going to be a "Tell All Book" written by none other than Whitney's "MOM". Supposedly, she's being paid $800,000 for her story. Here's the catch, Whitney gets to approve and disapprove what is written. |
