Barry Manilow Records New Duet With Whitney Houston's Vocals

Whitney Houston and Barry Manilow

Hi Everyone

Hope your summer is going well.

As for mine, I haven’t seen the light of day in four months!

A while ago I mentioned that I was working on two albums.

One was a “little” album and one was a “big” one.
As you must have realized, the “little” album was “Night Songs”. I thank all of you for your beautiful reactions to that album. I sure did love making that one and I’m so happy that you all liked it.

Now on to the “big” album, which has kept me inside since we all began creating it!

In this day and age of Duets albums, it seems that everybody and their mothers are making duets albums!

We talked about doing one too.

But the idea just left me cold. There are so many of them out there and some of them are pretty great. How could I make my Duets album different from all the others?

So I came up with a weird idea: What if I could make duets out of my favorite songs by artists that are no longer with us?

What if I could I actually sing with John Denver, Whitney Houston, or Judy Garland?

Well, after months of creating brand new duet arrangements of famous songs done by these legendary artists, I did.

I actually sang with them.

And we’re just about done with the album.

I’m calling the album, “My Dream Duets”.

The album is a miracle. It’s been a huge undertaking, musically and technically.

I’ve been working with a team of geniuses that have made these duets sound as if they were recorded yesterday. My new record company, Verve/Universal has been fantastic to work with and is already running with great ideas.

Everyone is very excited about “My Dream Duets.”
Me too!

It was an honor singing with Whitney (I ran for the Kleenex when I heard her voice!), Dusty Springfield, Louis Armstrong and more.

I hope you’ll like this one. I’m very proud of it.

The release date is sometime in late October.

Here we go again, friends!
Here we go!
