Gets Food Poisoning: Whitney Houston was taken to a
hospital emergency room in Paris today after becoming ill with food
poisoning on a plane to France. Her spokeswoman says Whitney is
doing well and is not expected to be admitted to the hospital. Agence
France-Presse reported Whitney planned a stopover in France before
flying to Barcelona for a vacation, but entertainment news show

The
following is an excerpt from an interview with singer Chaka Khan
from AOL BlackVoices:
Q: Speaking of real singers,
I want to talk about Whitney Houston for a moment. What is your
take on her situation and her current place in music?
A: She's going to be fine. Just leave
her alone. She has a life and she's walking her path. She'll do
what she [has to] do. She ain't no joke. You can tell she ain't
no studio trick. She's going to do fine. Whitney has got to do
her life. I mean, everybody's doing theirs, right? (Thanks
JoJo)

New
Whitney Houston Album On the Way, Says Davis
Expect a new album from Whitney Houston by year's end, reports music
icon and J Records honcho Clive Davis. 'We're going back into the
studio either the last week of March or the first week of April,'
says Davis, who's godfathered her career from the beginning. 'I'm
extremely excited about being back with her. I've recorded with
her every great album she did and we're a great team.'
Davis says the album won't be a new direction for the singer who's
been in the press more for her beleaguered marriage and substance
abuse problems in the past few years than her music. 'It's just
going to be great material. We're back and we're going to pick the
best songs. It's going to be Whitney at her best. Her voice is soaring.
Did you see her at the World Music Awards a few weeks ago where
I got the Lifetime Achievement Award? She was dazzling! The camera
panned to Celine Dion crying and Josh Groban crying and Courtney
Love said 'My God, this is the best singer in the world.'' (Thanks
David) |

Not Attending: According to the Fox News 411 column by Roger
Friedman, Whitney Houston will not be attending Clive Davis' annual
pre-Grammy party this year, "But there's no scandal here," he writes.
"According to my sources, 'Next year will be her big comeback. It's
too soon.'" The column had speculated earlier this month that Whitney
might perform at the party. (Thanks Stephen) |

From
MTV.com: An associate of Whitney Houston's late father is writing
a tell-all book about the singer, to be published in the next few
months. "The Rise and Fall of Daddy's Little Girl - The Whitney
Houston Story" would give Kevin Skinner's firsthand account of run-ins
with the singer and her husband, Bobby Brown, including, he claims,
"the drugs, the affairs, the lies." Skinner's rep says that the
book will be "shocking."
Note: Skinner claimed to be John Houston's business
partner, but his $100 million lawsuit against Whitney was thrown
out of court in 2004 for failure to provide legal documents that
could substantiate such a connection, as well as for refusing to
take part in a required deposition, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
For more details on the plummet of Skinner, you can read the Nippy
News archive. (Thanks Lee) |
