Promotion: Gap stores in the U.K. are playing the dance version of "On My Own" on heavy rotation. I was in two different stores yesterday and heard the track twice in both locations. (Thanks Steve) 2003/4/29 A Diva Moment: It wasn't jealousy over Tamyra Gray's rendition of "I WIll Always Love You" that convinced Whitney Houston to play herself in the May 12 season finale of Fox's Boston Public but rather a plea from series creator David E. Kelley. He phoned Houston and asked if she'd play a student's superstar prom date. To sweeten the deal, Kelley is letting the diva sing a track from her latest CD. It's not right, but it's OK. Whitney's "Love That Man (Remixes)" will be the Hot Shot Debut on the chart next week. Video Monitor: Billboard reports Whitney's "Try It On My Own" is at No. 20 at BET, and has been added at VH1. Radio Adds: Whitney's "Try It On My Own" is up to No. 10 from No. 11 at Adult Contemporary radio this week with 1221 spins, up from 1181 spins in last week's chart, according to Radio & Records. The song debuts at No. 23 at Urban Adult Contemporary radio with 174 spins, and comes in fourth in most increased plays at Urban AC with 93 additional spins. More 'Divas' Speculation: Picking up where All Access Music Group left off, Electronic Urban Report has followed suit to report Whitney is in final talks to be a part of this year's "VH1 Divas Duets" show.
