The
Whitney Weekday Request Campaign
has been divided by the letters of the alphabet. For example, if
your last name begins with the letter "A," you can proceed
to the row for "A" and call or e-mail any 3-5 radio stations
in that section. The letters will change everyday. The goal is to
help ensure that each state gets votes everyday, without all of
us voting in huge blocks.
Here is Another Option For Anyone With E-mail that Includes a
Line For BCC. This method enables you to send a single message
to DJs across the country without revealing that other DJs are receiving
your message at the same time.
DO NOT do this if your e-mail software does not provide a line called
BCC!!!
Non-AOL users click here.
AOL users have to use this different
method instead.
Note: While the BCC method will be quite effective, it excludes
many radio stations that do not provide direct e-mail addresses.
Therefore, if you have five minutes, continue to check out the
complete request list, because there are many links there that
will take you to radio station web sites where you'll be able
to send your e-mail message easily. Thanks!

Charts Update: News from Germany and Belgium...
On September 14th I went to Enrique Iglesias' concert in Antwerp,
Belgium. The climax of the show was absolutely "Could I Have This
Kiss Forever" (besides "Bailamos"). He said that Whitney
couldn't be there (unfortunately) and then an "ooooohhhhhh" went
through the audience. But he said, "I have someone else to sing
it along with me... and she's even better than Whitney." I was so
angry when he said that! The singer was a fake Naomi Campbell. They
sang an acoustic version together. Not very impressed. (Thanks

Cox Speaks: The following is a transcript of an online
chat with Deborah Cox that took place tonight at her official
web site. The quotes below are excerpts related to Whitney:

Re: Duet with Whitney Houston --By jsull
Q: Hi Deborah, why was there no video for the single
your duet with Whitney Houston "Same Script, Different Cast?"
A: Because of the transition between Clive leaving Arista
and the new team coming to Arista. I wish we could have done
one too! The song will be on my album as well.
THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION!!! --By Seancool
Q: Who is your greatest musical influence???
A: It's a combination...I listened to Billie Holiday,
Whitney Houston, Dinah Washington, Al Green, Gladys Knight and
Stevie Wonder.
Whitney Houston? --By Aries4884
Q: I was just wondering how it was working with Whitney
on "Same Script, Different Cast?"
A: It was a great experience. We've met quite a few times
and it was like hangin out with my older sister....very professional
and cool. Bobby was there too!
Popularity... --By dan_147
Q: Deborah, Dan here again… Why do you think that you
and artists such as Whitney Houston have such a strong following
in the gay community? Do you think that it is a function of
the type of music you release, or that you can be related to
easily, or a combination of both? Thanx :)
A: I think it is a combination of both.
Same Script... --By dan_147
Q: Deborah: I know that Hex Hector is your remixer of
choice, and I read that he now remixes under HQ2 productions.
How will that affect your mixes? By the way, your vocal on Same
Script...was incredible, and I really dig the part where WH
says you’re not listening and you sing LALALA…Was it Shep’s
idea to use the classical music (Fur Elise) as the instrumental
backing for the song? Thanks.
A: It will not change the way the remixes sound and yes
it was Shep's idea. (Thank you DCF, Rachel)

Universal/MCA is reportedly planning to release Bobby Brown's Greatest
Hits sometime this year. The album, which is planned to have 14
tracks, will include his duet with Whitney, "Something In Common."
Both CDnow and Amazon.com list September 26th as the expected release
date. Considering that this album has received no apparent marketing
or an announcement, hopefully the release date is incorrect. Click

Whitney
gets standing ovation at MTV Video Music Awards!
Whitney was introduced by Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera
as a singer who needs no introduction -- all you need to hear is
her voice. They never said her name. From backstage, Whitney's voice
came on the loudspeakers singing "I Will Always Love You."
The crowd immediately began to cheer. Whitney walked out on stage
and the crowd rose to its feet in a standing ovation as she sang
the chorus to "I Will Always Love You," and then walked
down the stage catwalk. She then presented the award for Best Video
of the Year, and Bobby joined her briefly on the stage. Here are
the screen captures, RealAudio and RealVideo for all of you to see
and hear:

From Canadian newspaper: Jamie Foxx can't seem to find someone
to share his star. Foxx has been signed to replace Will Smith
in the latest remake of A Star Is Born. This fourth incarnation
of Star was originally a vehicle for Whitney Houston, but the
diva has departed. "The movie's still very much a go, but Whitney
is gone," Foxx says. "That's no longer a rumor."

From Platinum Club: Whitney Wraps Up A "Fine" Video! Whitney wrapped
up the filming of "Fine," which will be the next video released
in association with "Whitney: The Greatest Hits." She finished production
this past Thursday evening, August 31st. Whitney's team said she
looked FABulous -- of course -- as she shot scenes for the "Fine"
video high atop a roof in the heart of Manhattan. Whitney's staff
also said Kevin Bray directed the upcoming video. He previously
directed Whitney in the videos for "My Love Is Your Love"
and "I Learned From The Best."
Music Charts Update: News from Germany...
Another "Princess" Cast Member: Erik Von Detten, the voice
talent behind characters on ABC's animated series "Recess" and "Toy
Story," has been added to the cast of Disney's "Princess Diaries."
Pic, helmed by Garry Marshall and produced by Whitney Houston, Debra
Martin Chase and Mario Iscovich, tells the tale of a rebellious
young girl who discovers she is the princess of a small European
country. Von Detten, whose TV credits include a series regular role
on skein "Odd Man Out," and the Disney Channel's "So Weird," is
repped by the William Morris Agency and manager Elissa Leeds-Fickman
of Reel Talent Management. (From The Hollywood Reporter)
From the Los Angeles Times: "Sometimes an artist can just walk in,
do a song so right, and it just gives you chills," Sides said. "Then,
it's just a matter of capturing that perfect moment on tape." In
1992, that moment lasted four minutes and 31 seconds, the duration
of Whitney Houston's cover of "I Will Always Love You" from "The
Bodyguard" soundtrack. Songs are usually mixed and remixed to remove
flaws and produce a clearer blend of sounds. Sides said the record-setting
song released to the public was the "rough mix"--an unrefined version
the public almost never hears--recorded at Record One. [Record One
is a California-based recording studio owned by Alan Sides.]
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" remains at No. 17 in the MTV European
Top 20 this week. It will likely climb over the next upcoming weeks
now that the single has been released in many European countries.
The video, which was at No. 8 today on the Select MTV chart, can
be requested here. (Thanks Eddy

Fans can help boost Whitney's airplay in Singapore by sending requests
for "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" to Singapore's Power98 radio
station. The song is currently up two places to No. 35 on the station's
Top 40 chart, marking her first chart appearance there since "Heartbreak
Hotel." Aside from that, she is faring better on two other Singapore
radio charts: She is up four places to No. 4 on the Perfect10 Top
20, and she is in the Top 10 on the Heart913 Top 20. (Thanks
Gary)
Check out Andre's new Whitney-Media

Dion and one behind Mariah Carey at No. 7. (Thanks Carolyn)

"If You Say..." Don Philip Doesn't Have a Duet Partner:
According to Christina Aguilera's official web site, she has no
plans for any new duets at this time. Philip had told Launch.com
recently that he was planning to possibly duet with Aguilera to
remake the song "If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful," which
Whitney recorded with Jermaine Jackson in the early 1980s. The duet
is now available on Whitney's Greatest
Hits. (Thanks Terrence)

Note: The child shown in the old picture from yesterday's news is
a 4-year-old girl from London named Savannah, after Whitney's character
in "Waiting to Exhale." Whitney met the little girl and her parents
during an autograph session in London to promote "My Love Is Your
Love." Savannah has been misidentified as Bobbi Kristina in numerous
European publications over the past year. (Thanks Andrea, Lili)

"If I Told You That" entered the MTV Brasil Top 20 at No. 20. In
addition, the song debuted in Multishow's Top TVZ Top 20 at No.
12 in Brazil. Whitney's last entrance in this countdown was at No.
6, peaking at No. 2, with "It's Not Right But It's Okay," which
was on heavy rotation at radio stations and clubs. So, as far as
"promotion" goes, I think IITYT did wonderfully! (Thanks Fernanda)

"Fine"
Filming: The video for "Fine" was filmed a couple
of nights ago. Filming finished at 5:30 a.m. on a roof-top location
in New York City. Whitney's security had the eight story building
sealed tight so the work could be done without interference. The
video has the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop. Bobby Brown and their
children were present during the filming. As Whitney and Bobby's
family summer winds to an end, Whitney will now be busy working
until year-end. Expect the next few months to be full of surprises.

Whitney on VIVA? German music channel VIVA will hold their
annual awards show, "Comet 2000," on November 28. The
program director said they're in talks with Whitney! She's
up for a Lifetime Achievement Award but she hasn't confirmed an
appearance yet. Enrique Iglesias is on their list of performers,
but he's the only one without a confirmed song title. Other nominees,
guests and performers include Sisqo, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child,
Eminem, Buena Vista Social Club, Christina Aguilera and many others!
(Thank you Tanja)
New Single Pictures: "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is
now available on a two-track CD single in Belgian shops (front
cover, back cover,
CD). It contains the
Metro Mix 3:55 and the Original version 4:21. It won't take long
before a maxi CD single will be available. (Thank you Eddy VB)
German online music store JPC has listed tracks for an apparent
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" maxi single:
1. Could I Have This Kiss Forever 3:55
2. Could I Have This Kiss Forever 4:21
3. If I Told You That 4:48
4. I'm Every Woman 4:30
You can click here to see it in English
or German.
As reported earlier, Alphamusic.de lists a different 3-track CD
single. (Thank you Daniel)
From Hollywood Reporter: Hector Elizondo has been added to the cast
of Disney's "The Princess Diaries" for director Garry Marshall.
The project marks Elizondo's 13th feature with Marshall, having
last appeared in the Marshall-helmed "Runaway Bride." "Diaries"
is about a rebellious teenage girl who becomes heir to the throne
of a kingdom and must learn how to properly become a princess. Elizondo
plays her bodyguard and mentor. He is repped by WMA and Pure Entertainment's
Mark Teitelbaum.
Belgium's Radio Donna chose "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" as
"Smaakmaker van de week." They did the same with the duet "If I
Told You That" for some time. This indicates that it will be played
nearly every hour of the day! The simultaneous promoting of Enrique
Iglesias' upcoming concert in Antwerp on September 14th will make
this duet very popular and a huge hit on the Belgian charts. (Thanks

Charts Update: News from Belgium...
Excerpt from Wall Of Sound Interview with Brandy: That sense of
"being at peace" emanates from Brandy. It's that sensation, one
suspects, that makes her so unhappy with the thought of anyone attacking
her mentor and friend, Whitney Houston. Brandy bemoans recent press
allegations of drug use by Houston, and she wishes Whitney-bashers
would just chill out. "Oh, I hate it! They need to leave her alone.
Leave her alone! I mean, she's a mom, she's a wife, and she has
a family. I don't think people realize she has feelings." Brandy
says she tries to think of Whitney as more of a friend now than
an idol. "She's so down to earth. I talked to her the other day
about some movie stuff and she sounded good. She's happy." (Thanks
Leon, Melson, Eduardo)
