The
Whitney Weekday Request Campaign
has been divided by the letters of the alphabet. For example, if
your last name begins with the letter "A," you can proceed
to the row for "A" and call or e-mail any 3-5 radio stations
in that section. The letters will change everyday. The goal is to
help ensure that each state gets votes everyday, without all of
us voting in huge blocks.
Here is Another Option For Anyone With E-mail that Includes a
Line For BCC. This method enables you to send a single message
to DJs across the country without revealing that other DJs are receiving
your message at the same time.
DO NOT do this if your e-mail software does not provide a line called
BCC!!!
Non-AOL users click here.
AOL users have to use this different
method instead.
Note: While the BCC method will be quite effective, it excludes
many radio stations that do not provide direct e-mail addresses.
Therefore, if you have five minutes, continue to check out the
complete request list, because there are many links there that
will take you to radio station web sites where you'll be able
to send your e-mail message easily. Thanks!

PLATINUM
Diva does it again. Whitney Houston can sit on a record, break it,

people sold short, has gone double-platinum in the US and quintuple
platinum worldwide. (Thanks Alan M.)

The
latest edition of Entertainment Weekly
features a two-page article about author E. Lynn Harris (Invisible
Life; Not A Day Goes By). As reported from EW here a month ago,
Harris has been tapped to write the screenplay for BrownHouse's
remake of "Sparkle" starring Aaliyah. Unfortunately, the
new article provides no additional information about the project.
It also doesn't mention that he is a Whitney fan! (Thanks John
G., John-John)
The duet "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" was at No. 10 today in
MTV Europe's Select Chart. In addition, MTV Europe's Top Selection

(Many thanks Eddy VB)
If anyone has radio station information for the Whitney

and "If I Told You That" will be serviced to U.S. radio
shortly, and "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" needs to
grow overseas. Thanks to Mary S. for additional radio station information!

Spanish radio station "Los 40 Principales" is playing "Could
I Have This Kiss Forever" every two hours because it is a "5
star" song, which means it is one of the most important hits of
the week. The single is at No. 18 on the "Cadena 100" singles chart
(another Spanish radio station) and they keep saying how lovely,
young and pretty Whitney looks in the video. You can request the
song in the Cadena 100 here.
(Thanks Laura)
The video "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" debuted on TMF Belgium
today. Just in time, the duet "If I Told You That" is no longer

Whitney
and Bobby Sighting: On Friday August 25, WBLS
DJ JC Jordan was broadcasting live from Six Flags/Great Adventure
amusement park in New Jersey. Then I got what appeared to be interference
on the radio in the middle of "Same Script, Different Cast." After
a few seconds, it became clear that the DJ was breaking into the
middle of the song. Why, because Whitney, Bobby and the family were
at the park! They came on the air for a couple of minutes live.
They didn't have much to say, they just seemed very happy to be
at the park with Bobbi Kristina and some of Bobby's kids and other
family kids. They gave a shout out to all of New Jersey. (Many
thanks Ed S.)
Gallery Update: Additional
pictures have been added to the gallery courtesy of Ralph R., who
sent pictures from Whitney's appearance last year on the TV show
"Wetten Dass," and pictures from "Cinderella."

Today VH-1 U.K. broadcasted a special edition of the U.K. Album
Chart, a countdown of the ten best albums of the nineties. Whitney's
CD "The Bodyguard" was rightly so at No. 1, and the soundtrack of
the movie "Titanic" was at No. 2. VJ Paul King played two clips:
"I Will Always Love You" and "I'm Every Woman." The channel also
broadcasted a Top 40 women chart. Whitney's video for "I Will Always
Love You" was played again after a brief summary of her career,
with references to Cissy Houston and Dionne Warwick. Whitney was
ranked at No. 2. (Thanks Eddy VB)

Remember
Quencie T. Thomas? She is the fan who was fortunate enough to
interview Whitney on MTV's "Fanatic"
at the time when the "My Love Is Your Love" project was
released. Whitney spent extra time talking to Quencie that day and
she has since met with Whitney again on several occasions. That
episode of "Fanatic" was very highly rated, and as a result,
a teen magazine called "Twist" interviewed Quencie earlier
this year for an article about stars' relationships with their fans.
It was to be a positive article printed this month. But when the
article did not appear, Quencie was told that it had been pushed
down to December, and that Whitney would no longer be included because
she is "too controversial." Very upset, Quencie has asked
that we take a few minutes to write to the editors at "Twist"
to tell them how unfair and unethical it is to kill a positive,
true story about Whitney simply because she is "controversial."
That does not eliminate Whitney's right to get an accurate story.
from Quencie.

"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is doing well in Germany. The song
is being promoted, it is played on TV and radio, and Enrique Iglesias
is promoting it here. But there is a new TV commercial promoting
his album and it says something like this: "Enrique and Whitney
with 'Could I Have This Kiss Forever' only on his album." He'll
start a tour in Germany soon and the TV and radio promotions for
his tour use CIHTKF in the background. His record label is obviously
trying to profit from Whitney's popularity in Germany. (Thanks
Sara)
Whitney-Fan.com on MTV! MTV Europe's "Top Selection" showed
some pages from this site on television today and called it "a
very nice Whitney Houston web site." Then they played the entire
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" music video! Let's keep
requesting the song! (Many thanks to Eddy VB and also MTV

"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" has been released to Singapore's

well here since "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," so if you would like to
vote, click

Whitney fans in the Washington, D.C. area got "Fine" up to the No.

their special countdowns, so every vote counts. (Thanks Gary)

New Music: Wyclef Jean's "The
Ecleftic - 2 Sides II a Book" hits U.S. stores tomorrow! The
album features the "Whitney Houston Dub Plate," a 1:28
intro in which Whitney changes the lyrics to MLIYL to "My Dub
Is Your Dub."
At VH1.com, you can suggest ideas for an awards show called "My
VH1 Music Awards." You can choose a topic and a nominee, and
if they like the idea they'll use it on the show. I suggested Whitney
as "Best Diva of Our Time." If we all vote for the same thing, maybe
she'll be considered for an award. (Thanks Andrea)
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is at No. 1 on CKMF 94.3 FM, Montreal's

U.K. Chart News: Whitney moves up on all
the charts! Read the details! The album may have benefited from
advertisements during the U.K.'s "Big Brother," a reality TV show
about ten people stuck in a house with no outside contact. On Thursday/Friday,
the show reached a really tense time and gained viewing figures
of 6 million, which is massive in the U.K. Then lo and behold in
the middle, during a commercial break, there was a promo for "Whitney:
The Greatest Hits!" Well done! (Thanks Craig)

Music Charts Update: News from Spain and
Belgium...
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" was at No. 9 on Thursday's edition
of the Select MTV Top 10. It was up to No. 8 today. Although the
song climbed one place, they didn't bother to show the video. They
only played a very brief excerpt from an interview with Whitney
from last year, and in general, haven't played the video very often.
In contrast, the video for "If I Told You That," with George Michael,
who is popular with the VJs, was promoted well by MTV Europe. So
once again, all European fans are urged to request
this song. (Thanks Eddy VB)
The Chris Rock Show returned to HBO tonight including his mock vigil
when Bobby Brown was released from jail last month. The segment
did not feature Whitney at all and had maybe only five seconds of
Bobby in it. It was devoted mostly to Rock's "vigil."
It was rather tongue-in-cheek and thankfully was not very bad.
The duet "If I Told You That" is down nine places to No. 28 this
week in Clipparade, a chart compiled by the viewers of TMF Belgium.
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is not on the TMF Belgium playlist
yet. (Thanks Eddy VB) |

Listen
to the 45 King Hip-Hop Remix of "Fine" from the Q-Tip
Productions promo 12" vinyl. The remix stays true to the song's
R&B roots with a fantastic bass beat and a few extra adlibs
included. It is great and would be wonderful as an official remix.
As reported at an earlier date, here is the 12" vinyl tracklisting
again:
Fine 45 King Hip-Hop Remix 4:06
Instrumental (music identical to the 45 King Hip Hop-Hop Remix)
Original Q-Tip Club Mix 3:34 (identical to the Greatest Hits
version)
Instrumental 3:36 (music identical to Greatest Hits version)
You can also hear the full Acapella 4:00, which features the same
extra adlibs as the 45 King remix. You can listen to both tracks
here.
