The
Whitney Weekday Request Campaign
has been divided by the letters of the alphabet. For example, if
your last name begins with the letter "A," you can proceed
to the row for "A" and call or e-mail any 3-5 radio stations
in that section. The letters will change everyday. The goal is to
help ensure that each state gets votes everyday, without all of
us voting in huge blocks.
Here is Another Option For Anyone With E-mail that Includes a
Line For BCC. This method enables you to send a single message
to DJs across the country without revealing that other DJs are receiving
your message at the same time.
DO NOT do this if your e-mail software does not provide a line called
BCC!!!
Non-AOL users click here.
AOL users have to use this different
method instead.
Note: While the BCC method will be quite effective, it excludes
many radio stations that do not provide direct e-mail addresses.
Therefore, if you have five minutes, continue to check out the
complete request list, because there are many links there that
will take you to radio station web sites where you'll be able
to send your e-mail message easily. Thanks!

From
the New York
Daily News:
Lessons from a 'Lady' -- It's taken many years, but the transformation
is about to become complete: Eliza Doolittle is Henry Higgins. Julie
Andrews, who starred on Broadway in "My Fair Lady" as the English
flower girl and is taught to speak properly by Higgins, is about
to perform a similar task for a little girl in director Garry Marshall's
next movie. The movie, which Whitney Houston is producing, is called
"The Princess Diaries," and is about the daughter of a single mother
who discovers that the father she never knew came from royalty.
The problem is, she neither feels like a royal nor speaks like one.
To the rescue comes her paternal grandmother (Andrews), who transforms
her into a lady. The story is expected to start shooting in September.
Project Update: According to the Detroit News, the "Cheetah Girls"
book series "will be turned into a Whitney Houston-produced TV special
this fall on the Disney Channel."
World Chart Show update...
The "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" Australian 4-track import single
is available at Virgin Mega Stores. As we know, the CD includes
the title track, the "I'm Your Baby Tonight" remix, "I'm Every Woman
" remix and "Queen Of The Night" remix. (Thanks Orlando)

a much better chance to win.
Whitney and George Michael's "If I Told You That" is at No. 1 for
a third week on MTV Poland's chart. Whitney and Enrique Iglesias'

Cox duet ~ there will be another video shoot soon, but it will

Dotmusic Repeats False New York Post
Story Again After Revising It
Several Weeks Ago! What's even worse now is that they've
reprinted a false story from the U.S. trash tabloid Star Magazine
and they mention the false Atlantic City story to essentially
bolster the false tabloid story. They even call Star Magazine
a "newspaper" even though it is nothing of the sort.
They can't claim ignorance in this case. Enough is enough.
Besides sending letters to Astrickland@unitedbusinessmedia.com
and sending it by CC: to news@dotmusic.com and editor@dotmusic.com,
you also have the option of printing your letters and mailng them
to: United News & Media plc; Attention: Consumer Publishing; Ludgate
House 245; Blackfriars Road; London SE1 9UY U.K. Just take care
to not use profanity.
Dotmusic is operated by Miller Freeman, a company whose publications
generally hold themselves to far higher journalistic standards
than the likes of Dotmusic. The company is owned by United News
and Media, which should be informed of how Dotmusic is soiling
the company's professional reputation by publishing false stories
and ignoring numerous reports of the truth. At the bottom of your
letters, you can also copy and paste the following two articles:
New York Daily News article
Fox News Online article
The false Star Magazine report, and bits of the false Atlantic
City story were also repeated by Music365.co.uk. They request
our opinions, so let's give it to them at theman@music365.co.uk.

Yesterday,
the Platinum Club ran a short story that there would definitely
be a video for "Same Script, Different Cast." Today, that
report is no longer on their news page. Instead, here is a different
report that is unrelated to the fan club:
"'Could I Have This Kiss Forever' and 'Same Script, Different
Cast' will continue to be worked on U.S. radio as long as possible
with a planned push behind the album, 'Whitney: The Greatest Hits'
coming close behind. A final decision has not been made on the commercial
release of 'Same Script, Different Cast' and it is now likely that
a video for the song will not happen. The song has been remixed
and these mixes will help promote Whitney's club profile. Consideration
is now being given to recording a video for 'Fine' next rather than
'Same Script, Different Cast.' That song will not be issued to U.S.
radio until after 'If I Told You That.' The finer details of this
information are being worked on and Arista is looking to work the
profile of the songs to the maximum benefit of the Greatest Hits
collection, hence the decisions to withhold commercial singles."
(Thanks Manish)
On the Charts: CIHTKF climbs eight
places on the Hot 100 due to airplay growth, while SSDC debuts on
the Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart. Read the complete
statistics...
We should continue to vote for the "Could
I Have This Kiss Forever" music video! It has dropped to No.
7 from No. 3 on VH-1 Net Request. In addition, the video aired on
MTV's TRL Wannabes yesterday. (Thanks Carolyn)
The July issue of German magazine "PRINZ" mentions the Whitney
Worship Webpage URL after a very brief article discussing Whitney's
Greatest Hits. (Thanks Daniel) |

From the Platinum Club: "It was just announced that there will
definitely be a video made in conjunction with Whitney and Deborah
Cox's duet, "Same Script, Different Cast," off of Whitney's Greatest
Hits compilation."
The duet "If I Told You That" climbed from No. 19 (new entry last
week) to No. 11 in the MTV European Top 20 countdown for the week
of July 26th. (Thanks Eddy VB)
Today TMF Belgium finally paid tribute to Whitney. They broadcasted
a Greatest Hits clip every hour. The highlight of the day was an
excellent special called "Whitney: Giving you her best." The special
was made by Arista to promote the release of "Whitney: The Greatest
Hits." It included snippets from interviews with Babyface, Kelly
Price, Wyclef Jean, Clive Davis and Whitney, excerpts from most
of her videos (including "If I Told You That"), a lot of footage
from Divas Live/99, a live performance of MLIYL with Bobbi Kristina
from Mannheim, Germany, and some very rare footage from a photo
shoot for last year's tourbook, Whitney in the gym. During the special,
they mentioned the two concerts Whitney gave in Antwerp (Belgium)
last year were sold out within 2-3 hours. (Thanks Eddy VB)

Here are two pictures related to "Hammer
and Nails," a song on which both Whitney and her mother
sang background vocals. The song is from Janis Siegel's 1982 album
entitled "Experiment In White" on Atlantic Records. You can see
the album cover here,
and read the lyrics and credits here.
(Thank you Philipp)
MTV in the UK and Ireland have started to play the video for "Could
I Have This Kiss Forever." It's time to request
it! (Thanks Paul S., Dominic)
Whitney was featured in this month's Vibe Magazine 7th anniversary
issue. She was ranked as one of the 100 most influential people.
But instead of saying what she has accomplished to be so influential,
they instead focus on recent controversies. They published a picture
of her and this is what the article says: Whitney Houston. Arista's
singature diva didn't always make it live, but she did make headlines
with "Whitney: The Greatest Hits," her sixth Grammy, and a near
airport drug bust. She nabbed the Soul Train Music award for Artist
of the Decade female and gave the performance of her life at Arista's
25th Anniversary special. Some say it's not right, but we say it's
OK. (Thanks CJ)
CIHTKF rises to No. 22 from No. 26 on the Much More Music video
countdown this week. (Thanks Mark)
Four additional Canadian radio stations have been added to the Whitney
Weekday Request Campaign, as well as additional e-mail addresses.

Whitney's next U.S. single is "If I Told You That?"
From the Platinum Club: Whitney's funky duet with George Michael
"If I Told You That" is next up for release from her smash Greatest
Hits compilation! The single became a number one smash in Europe
and now is scheduled for it's US release to radio stations on September
18th! Whitney fans should keep this date in mind and be sure to
gear up and remember to request the song from your local radio station
on the big day of the official US release! (Thanks Tony L.)
Regardless of what they say is scheduled, let's be sure to keep
requesting the CIHTKF music video and also request both CIHTKF
and SSDC on the radio! September 18th
is a long while away.
Also from the Platinum Club: As most Whitney fans already know,
Whitney and Bobby celebrated their 8th Anniversary last week. What
you may not know however is just where the happy couple decided
to spend their special day...It turns out Whitney and Bobby celebrated
at none other than Disneyworld in sunny Orlando, Florida! Congratulations
again Whitney and Bobby!
Mystery Solved: The new
remix of "You'll Never Stand Alone" that was posted
here yesterday is actually the Tony Moran Mix! As you know, that
remix was supposed to be released with "Could I Have This Kiss
Forever" until that single was reportedly shelved. (Thanks
Mkin, Ashren, Teemu, Ben, Andy)
VH-1 Robs Whitney Again: They've ranked Whitney's Superbowl
performance of "The Star Spangled Banner" as the 59th
Greatest Rock & Roll Moment. You should see some of the ridiculous
things they have ranked in front of it (and note the one directly
behind it), and their listing for Whitney is also inaccurate! Click
here for the full list plus air times on VH-1.
Whitney and George Michael's duet, "If I Told You That," is at No.
1 for a second week according to MTV
Poland. In addition, that channel premiered the music video
for "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" today. (Thanks Sylwia)
An additional Canadian radio station has been added to the Whitney
Weekday Request Campaign! Be sure to vote at the Canadian stations
because CIHTKF stands a good chance of hitting No. 1 in Canada!

From
Billboard's Dance Trax: Whitney Houston & Deborah Cox, "Same
Script, Different Cast" (Arista single). In 1979, Donna Summer and
Barbra Streisand scored an international disco/pop hit with the
duet "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)." Now, 21 years later, Houston
and Cox are poised to do the same with the equally powerful "Same
Script, Different Cast." Supplying the supple and varied grooves
are Jonathan Peters, Mel Hammond, Friburn & Urik, Victor Romeo &
Lee Marshall, and Chicago house pioneer Joe Smooth.
The following is reportedly the SSDC maxi single tracklisting:
A1. Jonathan Peters Club Mix 9:35
B1. Joe Smooth Slang Club Mix 5:49
C1. Jonathan Peters Goes There Dub 11:07
D1. Victor Romeo Slang Vocal Mix 6:19
E1. Friburn & Urick Uncover Your Ears Mix 10:49

MSNBC Does It Again: The channel's
Special Edition program re-aired the false New York Post story last
night regarding Whitney's July 1st concert in Atlantic City. The
reporter claimed she was re-airing the report because she "loves

true. There's no excuse for running a false story, never mind doing
it twice!

New
RealAudio! Listen to the "Whitney Houston Dub Plate"
1:28 intro to Wyclef Jean's new song,"However You Want It,"
from his upcoming album due on August 22. The recording is taken
from dubs of the song "My Love Is Your Love" and features
alternate lyrics! It may sound a little familiar to some of you,
since this recording was played at Wyclef's show at U.K. Reggae
Sunsplash last year, and the somewhat muffled audio has been on
this site since then. Now you can listen to "My Dub Is Your
Dub" in clear audio! (Many thanks to ZuZy)
The U.S. single release for "Could I Have This Kiss Forever"
has been shelved for the time being in favor of "Same Script,
Different Cast." There is no confirmed word on when a video
for SSDC will be filmed and aired and the commercial release date
of the single has yet to be set. (Thanks Manish)
Although Arista is moving away from CIHTKF as a single for now,
we should continue to request the music
video because it helps to promote the Greatest Hits. You can
also continue to request the song at radio stations as Arista makes
the transition to "Same Script, Different Cast" so CIHTKF
can help to boost album sales. However, soon we will have to increase
our radio requests of SSDC as it has now been designated as
the first U.S. release.

Music Chart News from Rio de Janeiro...
CIHTKF was at No. 3 yesterday on VH1's net request countdown. Susan,
a hostess of the show, called it one of the sexiest duets ever.
Separately, when Christina Aguilera recently co-hosted Rick Dees'
countdown, when the song finished playing, she said "that was
the beautiful Whitney Houston with Enrique Iglesias." She also
mentioned that CIHTKF could be found on both of their CDs and that
the version on Whitney's CD was mixed for her. Lastly, on "Extra"
last night, after a report on summer romance, the hostess mentioned
that it was Whitney and Bobby's 8th anniversary. (Thanks Carolyn)

New York City's WKTU-FM Responds to New
York Post Story Correction:
"Thanks for all of your work. I don't know if we are going to go
back and cover this story. But we certainly appreciate your attention
to it, as well as your loyalty to KTU. Our fondness for the music
of Ms. Houston is undeniable. We hope she continues to make music
that entertains and thrills all who hear it for many years to come."
(Thanks Lopez)
Note: They play Whitney's music very often. In your
e-mail to them, just be polite and state that they should at least
correct the story since they publicized the false story. After all,
many of their listeners are Whitney fans and would appreciate hearing
the truth. You can e-mail them at info@ktu.com.
Baltimore's 92Q FM morning show repeated the false New York Post
story about Whitney's July 1st Atlantic City show. They seem to
be a very Whitney-friendly show so take care to be polite. They'd
probably be interested in correcting it. You can e-mail the station
at marc@bigphatmorningshow.com.

Producer David Foster was a guest this morning on a Canadian talk
show. At the end of the show, the hostess asked, "What project
do you feel the most overjoyed to have accomplished in your career?
Which do you feel you will always remember throughout your life?"
He stated that putting Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole together
for "Unforgettable" was memorable. Then he said: "'The Bodyguard'
...that was something. Working with Whitney, working with 'I Will
Always Love You,' that is very memorable, and working with all
the other songs on the soundtrack. Wow! That sold 36 million,
so... that's truly a memorable project for me. That was great!"
Then he mentioned Céline Dion and how great she is and how Barbra
Streisand was the first one at the hospital when he hurt his back.
He worked with her on her "Back To Broadway" album. (Thanks

From New York
Daily News: Surprisingly, Kina says her first role model was
Whitney Houston. "People are shocked when I say that because I sound
nothing like her," she admits. I get a lot of Tina Turner, but Tina
wasn't a big influence. As a kid I knew every hum and breath from
Whitney. When I was 13 or 14 I was chubby and insecure," the singer
continues. "I could be miserable all day in school and then hear
Whitney sing and be happy. To hear her sing told me I could do something
[with my life]."
