Whitney Houston released her first non-soundtrack album in eight years, “My Love Is Your Love,” in November 1998. The album, which was recorded in six weeks, went on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide despite little advance word. It marked the first time that Whitney would work with hip hop songwriters and producers. The album garnered Whitney some of the best critical reviews of her career, and included the popular singles “Heartbreak Hotel,” “My Love Is Your Love” and “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay,” which earned Whitney her sixth Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in February 2000.
