NOTHIN' BUT LOVE Whitney Houston

HOUSTON, do we have a problem? Sorry, it's a cliche to start, but even to this day, six months after the big comeback with Million Dollar Bill, people are still asking the question.

Musically, I don't think anyone needs to worry. Million Dollar Bill was an instant dancefloor hit. The follow-up, I Turn To You, sort of slipped by without anyone noticing but was still a fine Whitney ballad. And this new single flirts nicely with an urban sound. The problems have been well documented and this track answers the critics, listing all the people who've been there along the way (both good and bad), and all the problems that have plagued her over the past 10 years. But Whitney holds no grudges, she has "Nothing But Love For Ya" - the words, surely, of someone who has turned a corner, and is back on the right track.

I'll admit I've been a Whitney fan since Dance With Somebody and nothing pains you more than seeing someone go through strife, so it's all the more pleasing to see her back in a good light. Indeed the mega-star set to play the East Midlands for the first time this week. Is her voice as good as it once was? I don't care, it's Whitney bloomin' Houston!
