It is Growing on Me-But They don't blend

The first time I listened, I felt I was cheated. I expected more, maybe, it was the build up. Whitney is singing in a head voice, she sounds different from IWALY. However, I like her first vs. and first chorus which is slow and deliberate. I can tell she is feeling this song and the importance of the story. Mariah is all over the board. She is singing in too many different keys and pitches which was not appealing to me. I like the bridge and I think this is Whitney. However, I do like Mariah sweeping soprano "believes". I felt Babyface should have used more high sopranos for both of them. I know that Whitney could have sung them because the note didn't hold too long. I wish WH would have held her note longer in the bridge. I didn't like Mariah coming in on the high note with a 3 sec delay. Sometimes, I think Babyface is OVERATED. I think the song will be #1 but I don't think it will top 17 wks on the chart. People expect more when you get two of the top vocal talents in pop music. I like the song but all in all I am a little dissappointed in mostly BABYFACE. I have tried to really be unbiashed. But you never know, most people who post reviews are die hard Whitney and Mariah fans who study and know these talents intimately so maybe we are too close to the fire. Probably, the general public will have another view. I wonder if Sony will be releasing another version like a pop, AC, and R&B version. In fact, we just finish studying Moses and the Exodus chapter of the bible/the plagues/Pharoah/etc and just a bit of history. Most of the people did not believe but that is for another day.
