Eventually I Will Believe

Had my radio on this morning, decided to skip my early morning class. Half dreaming- half awake I could hear the voice of Whitney Houston singing over the radio. This was not a song that I had heard before. I fully awoke when I realized that this was the duet that I had long waited to hear. 95.5 in DC was playing "When You Believe." I think that the song is ok- it will grow on me eventually- but I don't think that is had that effect that I Have Nothing- or Didn't We Almost Have It All- or the countless WH songs that when you heard them the first time they struck a chord deep inside of you- a destined classic. Mariah's voice was the sweet- beautiful high soprano- to WH's powerful- church-spirit fulled alto. I held my breath to see who was going to get the last word in at the end. It looked liked Mariah- but WH came in at the last minute to harmonize on the very last note. I think that I will eventually like the song- Next time I hear it I'll listen more carefully- but I like what I heard
