The Preacher's Wife Soundtrack Reviews

Date: Sun, 19 Jan 1997 01:46:53 -0500 (EST)
Subject: PREACHER'S WIFE REVIEW of 'Somebody Bigger Than You And I'

I don't know what your [Rachel's] musical background is, but I think you[Rachel] missed a little on [your review of] the cut "Someone Bigger Than You And I". Surely, Bobby had to go some but his style fits quite well.

The overwhelming driving bass was enough to stir the soul, especially the three Church like organ tones (could have been electronic) booo, booo, booo just prior to the final rap. Also, Bobby's musical laugh after the Shak attack reference was in my opinion well placed.

I just thought is was a dynamite piece as well as a simply great C.D. I must admit I'm not a big Whitney vocal fan, but she hit the mark with this one.

Also, how could you not comment on the 23 Psalm! Extremely uplifting. I have not been able to listen to many other CD's -- forever playing this one.

Should win a lot of Grammys. Thats for allowing me to share.
