Whitney Houston, One Wish: The Holiday Album (Arista). **

Poor Whitney. Despite everything, you still wish she'd do something spectacular and redeem herself. The duet with her 10-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina on Little Drummer Boy is an unexpected delight (the kid, thankfully, has seemingly inherited some of her mother's talent). However, the cheap programmed drum machines and keyboards and generic R&B arrangements sinking this project render One Wish strictly Blue Light Special at Kmart.
