It's Not Right, But It's Okay:
Da BOMB! This will be a classic.
Heartbreak Hotel:
Nice...I liked how all three voices blended. Should do well if it gets airplay.
My Love Is Your Love:
A new sound for Whitney. It definately works! Loved hearing her daughter in the beginning.
When You Believe:
I was surprised that I liked it. Beautiful lyrics...I'm grateful that both Whitney and Mariah used restraint during the finalie!
If I Told You That:
I think the best on the album. Funny because I disliked it the first time I listened to it. This song needs to be heard at FULL VOLUME...i.e. nightclub? to fully appreciate. She jams!
In My Business:
Liked the melody. The lyrics made me glad not to be a celebrity :) Missy did good work on this one!
I Learned From The Best:
Vintage Whitney as far as I'm concerned. This one should blow-up on the charts. The last note is worth the wait.
Oh Yes:
I really enjoyed this song. Once again a different sound from Whitney. I really liked the back-up vocals...nice.
Get It Back:
Now this song need to be heard with headphones at full volume to fully appreciate all of the details Jerkins supplied. I can't wait to hear a club-mix of this song. I think I enjoyed production and music more that Whitney's singing!
Until You Come Back:
Babyface...need I say more?
I Bow Out:
Once again dope lyrics. This one makes my husband nervous when I listen to it over and over....;)
You'll Never Stand Alone:
Beautiful tribute to her daughter? I think. I didn't want to like it at first, I thought it would be sappy. She handled this one well...lots of emotion on this one.
I Was Made To Love Him:
Girl saaang this song! Very fierce! I did get tired of Lauryn's "na-na-na's" during the song...very annoying! Overall though it was smokin!
Overall impressions on MLIYL:
I enjoyed this album during my first listen, but was not too impressed until the second listen when I put on my headphone and blasted it! There is a ton of little details on most all of the songs that goes to show you how much of a professional Whitney has become. If this album is marketed correctly (so far it hasn't been!) then it should blow-up on the charts.
