Bobby and Whitney Brown in Vegas!

Posted by Nancy on November 12, 19100:

Concert date:

Review of the show:
This is a really long review!!!! Sorry if there’s bad spelling and I know some of it might not make sense but oh well…..

Sorry I'm so late with the review, but I haven't been able to get to a computer. Ok, the concert was great!!! I flew all the way from Texas to California and then drove with some family to Vegas for the concert. I got to Vegas about two hours before the concert started and got kicked out of the Aladdin Casino for being too young. And then I fell on my butt on the way back to the theater for the concert.

Her set list was:

Get it Back

If I told you that

Heartbreak Hotel

Saving all my love/Until you come back to me

I learned from the best

Step by Step

I wanna dance with somebody

How will I know

I love the lord

I go to the rock

I believe in you and me/

Hurts like hell/

Why does it hurt so bad

I will always love you

My love is your love

Something in common

Anyway, Bobby came out wearing some white jeans with the backs painted black and I think spots of paint on the front. He started off with My Peragative, then That's the Way I feel, Roni, Rock Witcha, Every little step, Get away, and then Don't be cruel. During Roni he told his kids to close their eyes because they could see "some of daddy's show but not all of it." Then pretended a towel was Whitney and put it on the floor with a microphone (spelling?) on it and started breathing hard and acting like he was humping the towel, then Whitney came out and I started screaming Whitney, Whitney but I guess he didn't hear me because when he saw her he jumped up and stepped back. It was real funny cause he looked scared and surprised. She was telling him something and shaking her finger at him but I was to far to hear. Then he introduced her and as she walked away he said we'd be seeing her later. Then once she was gone he said dang y’all why didn't y’all tell me she was there (or something like that).

Then he brought his girls out, Laprincia and Bobbi Kristina and said they are his little roni's. He asked them if they wanted to say anything and they both shook their heads no, then he told Laprincia to say hi and she did. Then they ran of holding hands. I don't remember which songs but he tore his shirt and showed some of his butt. He also said he'd been sober for I think 275 days or something and everyone clapped and yelled including me.

I've been a huge Bobby fan since the 80's so I was screaming through the whole forty minutes of his set and was horse by the time he was singing Don’t be Cruel. Me, my cousin and aunt were the only one's up in our section during Bobby's set. I thought he was great, especially since he said he hadn't performed for almost 7 years. He said he had a new album coming out and that he did the concert to make sure he could still perform. He tried to make people sing along to Don't be Cruel but nobody did so he got Brandy, who was sitting right next to the stage to sing along. Once he was done he said goodbye and thanks for our time, which I thought was nice but also unneeded because he did such a great job in my opinion.

After a 10-15 minute intermission the lights dimmed and the Get it back started to play. Whitney came out wearing a neon yellow off the shoulder dress with some sequence on it and one of those feather things sown onto it. She seemed to be relaxed and in good spirits the whole night. I was in the way back in the balcony seating so I had to watch the 2 screens they had alot. She had a light brown wig on, which was different from the hair she had when she came out to talk to Bobby. I thought that was funny. I was in the last row of the arena two rows from center and was screaming through the whole show so anyone who was about in the left side of the balcony, my have heard me.

Anyways, Whitney was moving and dancing a lot more than I've seen her in any other televised concerts (this was my first Whitney concert in person). Her voice sounded great and if she was ever having problems with her voice she wasn't Friday night. She sang all the songs differently than the c.d.'s like usual but still sounded better than any of her c.d.'s. She hit all the high notes. She danced around the stage through GIB and IITYT, she asked the crowd what would we say if she told us that, and then started singing, but slowed down for HBH and said we've all been to the HBH but we all check out. She said that the songs she just sang were off the MLIYL album and asked if we all had the album. Not to many people said anything so she made a funny face like to say, well then, and told everyone it was still for sell in record stores and to go get it. She was about to talk about the greatest hits but somebody beat her to it and she told them God bless you. And told everyone to go buy that album also. She said that the Aladdin made her and Bobby feel at home. And also said we were in a Brown House and welcomed us.

She then sang SAML and slipped into UYCBTM. After a few other songs she went to change. Her brother sang Change the World. She came back wearing a bright pink off the shoulder dress. She talked about all the men who had called her for the movies she's been in and said Bobby was starting to get worried. She then sang her songs from the movies. I can't really remember but before or during the gospel songs she turned around to drink water, do her make-up, and spray her throat. The people in the section sitting next to me started screaming for Whitney to give them some of the stuff. It was funny at the time cause they were really into it. She turned around and smiled at the audience a little bit then finished freshing up. She sang I go to the rock and some other people said, "no stay away from the rock Whitney." Everyone in our little section of the balcony laughed. Whitney also said to tell anyone who was talking bad about her that she loved the lord. Everyone clapped when she said that.

While she was singing a gospel song she said you’re a fool if you say you don't believe in the lord, but that he loves you anyway. She said it in a singing voice and also said who made the flowers grow who makes the rain come down and some other stuff but I don't remember. She sang IWALY and didn't miss a note. She did the famous pause right before the last verse and said Happy Birthday to her sister-in-law Donna and that she does a great job putting up with her and bobby. She moved the chair and pushed the table away from her and then dropped her arms and finished the song. I thought she sang it great and did hit all the right notes, even if other people didn't. I hadn't heard her sing it like that in a long while. She then did her bow and ran off stage.

Some people started to leave but mostly everyone knew she'd come back. The music for MLIYL and I heard Bobby's voice so I screamed BOBBY but he wasn't out there it was Whitney and I felt like a dummy. But then he came running out after her. She sang a few notes of it but then said to stop playing and brought Bobbi Kristina out on stage. They made a little family moment and it was real cute cause Bobby and Whitney had the little girl in the middle of them and she was looking back and forth at her parents. It was really cute. They seemed really happy. It left me feeling light hearted. Alot of people were oh-ing and ah-ing.

After it was over Bobbi Kristina ran off stage and Bobby and Whitney sang Something in common. Whitney had her back turned to bobby while he sang the first part of the song and he walked up behind her and hugged her. They looked so happy. I can't say that enough. After that Whitney said "Mr. Bobby Brown" pointing to Bobby and Bobby did the same thing to Whitney saying, "Mrs. Whitney Houston-Brown." They said bye and that they loved Vegas and thanks for coming and walked off arm in arm still singing looking in each others eyes. It was so cute.

After that everyone got up and left. It was really hard leaving the balcony cause they were so many people. I kept tripping down the stairs. When I left I was really hyper and was screaming Whitney and Bobby are the best all the way from the theater to the parking garage and was waving my Whitney shirt around. People were looking at me like I was crazy but I didn't care. When I was on the street I saw a car with WH FAN on the license plate and started screaming YEAH WHITNEY and they were screaming back. So everyone around us was looking at us like we were crazy.

And that was my first Whitney Concert Night.

Sorry so long!!!
