Phenomenal Whitney

Which Concert: Saturday, Nov. 14/98

By the time Whitney had finished the first two songs I had gotten my money's worth for the price of my bus ticket to Atlantic City and the hundred dollars I paid for the ticket. The rest of the show was a gift. This is the first time I had seen Whitney in concert and she was fantastic. She told us from the start that she was a bit hoarse because of her new Album which she did in six weeks. She also said that since you already paid you should get your money's worth by having a good time. She was a combination of Diva, Homegirl, and Class Act. At one point in the show she even played peace maker with her "lets not get ignant up in here" and brought the trouble maker closer to the stage. It was touching when she started to sing MLIYL. She stoped when BK said "sing mommy" and then while singing "and the lord ask me what I did with my life" at the pause she turned and pointed to BK while continuing with "I will say I spent it with you". Her group Sunday sounds great on the Down in the Delta Sound Track and as she said at this show look out total & destiny's child. Those girls tore into MLIYL. Which she also taught Luther Vandross that evening. By the time the purple & pink ballons floated down from the cieling to Step by Step I was in heaven. I can not wait for my next Whitney concert because I am now officially hooked on seeing her perform live.
