THE voice, definitely.

Review of the show:
There I was, for the second time this autumn, being enchanted by Whitney Houston. She was in Antwerp before, she was great. This time, she was even better. She seemed to enjoy herself very much, probably because the tour nears its end and it has been extraordaniry succesful. Whitney gave the crowd in Antwerp, Belgium one big thank you by singing with all the power she had in her. It was spectacular. And she looked soooooo good. She is definitely one of the most beautiful women on the planet.

The show had its flaws. Sometimes she talks too long. And the gospel part, although beautifully performed, does not click with the Belgian public. But oh my god, the Voice was in great shape. I had read Whitney had been ill recently, so I feared that she would not be in top form. But everything seemed to be all right, as she hit all the high notes with an amazing strength, all the while looking spectacular.

Whitney was in a very good mood, too. When a fan on the first row asked if she wanted to sing The Greatest Love of All, Whitney said yes. Later on in the show, she sang a little piece. It was very unexpected and really sweet and brought back a lot of memories for the crowd. When people were rushing to the stage during My Love Is Your Love, Whitney asked them to move closer and have a good time. Which was no picnic for the security guys, as you can imagine.

Also different from her other Belgian show: Bobby Brown joined her onstage. Repeatedly. First during My Love Is Your Love, a littel while later during I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Together they brought the house down, but after his little performance, Bobby dissappeared. He didn't return to his usual place at the end of the stage, now there was a bodyguard there. But who needs Bobby, really? Not when you've got Whitney to look at. And to listen to.

Whitney talked about the fact that she missed her family very much, particularly her daughter. She had a great big smile on her face when you hear Bobbi's bit in My Love Is Your Love.

Most importantly, the voice to end all voices was there. Every song was invested with lots of passion. For my job (I'm an entertainment reporter) I also had to go to the Belgian concert of Celine Dion a couple of months ago, and believe me, Whitney just blows Celine away. Maybe they can hit the same notes, but only Whitney makes you feel her love and, especially in her newer songs, her pain.

It is wonderful to see how an artist who seemed to have nothing left to achieve, is still growing.

And did I mention how good she looked?
