I Will Always Love You Whitney!Concert date: 10/31/99 Oberhausen, Germany
Review of the show: I went in with the Fan Club so I stood in the first row again. The concert began at 8:15PM with Bell, Book and Candle, they were quite good. Whitney came on stage at about 9:40PM after the crowd booing again, they just don't get that it is absolutely useles! Before Whitney came someone started a Mexican wave which went round the arena several times, I had never expected that, really. Whitney came out with the same black pants and jacket she wore the day before but she had a white shirt on. She looked fantastic! She sang the usual songs, started with Get It Back, then came Heartbreak Hotel where she sang "You said you'd be here by nine ... instead I took my time" and smiled. I don't know why but with this smile she makes you forget everything, before I was a bit annoyed because she came so late but after seeing her I was just happy! Then came If I Told You That, Saving All My Love For You, Until You Come Back, I Learned From The best and Step By Step. Between those songs she said hello to us and told us that the whole crew is sick and that she is really looking forward to going home. I had a poster saying that Whitney was absolutely great the day before although she was a bit ill and that I hope she feels better now. She looked at it, smiled and whispered a thank you. Wow, I'll never forget that smile! Someone asked about Bobbi Kris so Whitney told us that her daughter is in first grade and so she can't take her out of school although she wants to and she misses her so much. But she said in a few days she will see her again and in this time she is happy to have her brother, husband and mother around. Yeah, Cissy and Bobby were there. Just Gary was missing because he was ill. While Whitney was changing her clothes, the backgound vocalists sang I'm Your Baby Tonight and Queen Of The Night. Whitney came back with My Love Is Your Love in a black dress with a green fur jacket. During this song Bobby came on stage and sang with her, great absolutely great! Without Bobby the song is not as half as good! At the end of the song they came close together and danced they were like two teenagers just fallen in love, very cute! Then came I Wanna Dance With Somebody and How Will I Know. She also sang I Love The Lord, I Go To The Rock, I Believe In You And Me, Why Does It Hurt So Bad, It Hurts Like Hell and Natural Woman. (I don't know the order.) Between those songs she read the posters of Caroline and the two others who came in for free. (Sorry, ich weiß eure Namen nicht) Whitney told the audience that those three girls are always so nice, they write so many sweet things for her. She said something like, "We are getting closer and closer the four of us, the last concert I want you to come backstage!" I started applauding but most of the audience didn't understand it and stayed quiet so Whitney looked up and said "I want them to come BACKSTAGE!" Then she turned to the three again and said "We can meet, we can hug, we can talk..." Although I wasn't meant tears came into my eyes, it was a very special moment. Finally Whitney sang I Will Always Love You and as encore she sang It's Not Right But It's Okay. She was wearing the red fur jacket from the Oberhausen Tour Poster, a black shirt and a skirt with embroidery, very nice! When she left the stage I remembered that maybe I'll never see her again, who knows if and when she will come on European tour again!? I also had to say goodbye to the fans I got to know and that really made me sad! As I hugged Caro and wished her all the best for the last concert I couldn't hide my tears any longer... I am so happy that this time everything was as I hoped, so it's good that it was the last one. Now I will keep Whitney in good memory. Goodbye Whitney, I will always love you!
