Well, what can one say? One can say Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion or numerous of other "soulsingers", but they fall on their asses when one´s heard Whitney live! It was my first Whitney liveperformance, and I am sorry - maybe Aretha is higher, Mariah has more advanced wails - but they don´t have that voice! That quality that is like finest champagne make the rest seem,at the most, like wine.

Whitney heals with her voice, and I mean it literally!

I feared what time had done to her vocalchords, but I didn´t have to worry. Sure, she keep away from those lower falsettonotes but nonetheless there is no danger of her losing her magic!

BUT the crowd! I pity her - all that energy and nothing back! Maybe I´m not the right person to judge the finnish audience, being a swede lost in Helsinki - but it was a difficult night for her.

Of course the papers hailed her the morning after, so maybe they were just starstruck....

Scandinavian behavior is little like: You show us that you´re good and eventually we might give something back. The reason for this is a long story, and I´m am sure you don´t want Scandinavian history...

For me it was a fabulous night with the worlds most beautiful voice! She did classic rendition of her songs that sent chills up my spine and she tried her best to keep her and our spirit up!

But I´ve always thought that she sometimes tend to be unfocused in her stagepersona. I believe the magic of artistry is to take all that energy that the audience gives out and form it to one giant beam and send it back. And Whitney does that at times, but she could learn to get even more focused. Cause when she does it´s like bringing a blanket of love around the whole auditorium. But maybe the unfocusness was due to the lack of response from the audience. And I do understand that. But when she will manage that complete focus all the way through she´ll be moving mountains!

Favourite moments: The looong reggaefied version om MLIYL !!!! The gospelset - WOOOW! Saving all my love for you..... and - I will always love you, which was worth the whole ticketprice just to hear her do it live, FANTASTIC!A blanket of love-moment.

She only had one dresschange and no brother singing, which maybe was good. Clothes were fine, she wants to be hip...

Finally I have to give Mr. Bobby Brown my respect. Even though I am sure he´s been a hazzle for her at times - for him, as a famous singer himself, to stand by his woman during this tour - being all energy and supportive, I believe is a huge act of love..Respect!
