My Love Is Wembley Arena

Posted by Jonny H on September 16, 1999:

Concert date: 9/15/99 Wembley, UK

Review of the show:
Strong, powerful, dynamic, masterful. The woman with the big vocals is back, and on top form.

Last night she had the audience simply eating out of her hands ... and she had a lot to offer. Her choice of material was A-class, and unlike many of her previous concerts, she focused mainly on her own music, as opposed to covering others'. Another refreshing change was her refrain from long-winded lectures between each song. Speaking for myself, I paid to hear the girl sing, not talk about how great her family is, or how much she admires Aretha Franklin! This is all irrelevant.

Instead, she gave a soulful performance with highlights such as the title track from her new album, I will always love you, Saving all my love for you, and the incredible dance anthems If I told you that and get it back.

Whitney most certainly has 'got it back'.
