Top Notch !

Posted by Dale on September 12, 1999:

Concert date: 9/11/99 Birmingham, UK

Review of the show:
I have seen Whitney many, many times from Earls Court, Wembley Arena & Stadium, Manchester, Hawaii and the NEC previously ! So a big fan. But I always get concerned about her throat problems and her not maintaining those standards of early in her career, but last night she was terrific !!

I am a fan of her older and slower material as I feel she can use her wonderful voice to full effect, but I loved every minute of all the material last night. She started with tracks from the new - inc Heartbreak Hotel , a favourite for me, the crowd loved it ! But they really got involved with the first slow medley, starting with her first UK hit ' Saving all my Love for you. I only wished she sang the whole of that song!

After the clothes change she came out with I'm every women, I wanna Dance and How will I Know - the whole arena was up and dancing/clapping - She still has it !

The high, for me at least, was I Will Always Love You ! Terrific, she ended with It's Not right !

On for about 1 and 3/4's - the show started on time too ! A Rarity.

The only thing missing was 'Greatest Love and I Have Nothing' ! But all in all Brilliant !

Anyone got spare tickets for the London show ????
