Couldn't we have it all

Posted by Ruth Lewis on August 03, 1999:

Concert date: 8/01/99 San Francisco, CA

Review of the show:
I woke up earler then usual excited that today I will see Whiney Houston in concert for the very first time in my life. The day before was my two daughter's day with the ALL That concert at the SHoreline in Mountain View and sunday is going to be my day. I have waited a long time for this day. I was in High school when I first heard you sing, I have bought evry CD you made, every Movies you played in, found every picture you ever took.

Sunday August 1, 1999 was going to be a dream come true. I got my daughter ready to be taken to my sister's house and off we went. I droped them off and I left for the concert at 3:00 because I wanted to get a good park and find out were my seat was. I paid $136.50 for my ticket and was in Row FF Seat 6. When I gave the lady my ticket she said "you have great seats" , not know how great they were. When I was directed to my seat, I looked up and I cryed because I was so close to the stage I could have seen the sweat roll off your face. I sat there looking around at all the people come in, dressed in their best. All of the children's faces lit up because there were going to see Whiney Houston.

I checked my watch and saw that it was 7:00 and there was just 30 more minutes till show time. At no time did I think that this day wasn't going to happen, 7:15 came and I voice came over the load speaker, May I have your attention Please I'm sorry to inform everyone that the proformance tonight has be conceled due to Mrs. Houston illness. My heart drop right out of my body. I felt everyon's heart drop. SOme one said out load this is this a joke this can't be true. I sat there for ten minutes saying no no this can not be happening. I felt like I was just hit by a bus.

Why, Why did you wait fifteen minutes before the show was to start to let us know that you wasn't coming out. You knew that moring when you woke up that you was not feeling good. Why wait until people have bought your tie-shirts, books food and drinks to say you are sick and won't be proforming. I waited my whole life to see you and this is my thanks for buying your CD's, movies, posters, and magazines you were in. How disappointed all the children were when they heard this. How would you feel if Bobbi Christine was there to see her favorite singer and for what ever reason her favorite singer in the whole world has canceled her show .

I don't think I will ever get over this. What ever is going on in you life, if it be Bobby, Drugs, your voice you need to reevaluate your life. If it wasn't for us you would not be where you are today. People that was there on August 1, 1999 were true FANS. I have never paid that much for a ticket to see any one in my whole life. You owe us more then this. You owe us a concert FREE and I mean FREE. You owe this to every place that you canceled. We do not deserve this. We made you and we can brake you too. The rumors are that you don't do show that are not sold out. Who do you think you are. You are no better then us, you just have money. And you call yourself s DIVA, NOT. You need to respond to the Fans with the truth. God has blessed you and this is how you say THANK YOU JESUS. I hope you read this or at least find out how we feel about what you did.

Thank You,

Ruth Lewis
