She's A Bitch

Posted by AtLarge on August 02, 1999:

Concert date: 8/01/99 San Francisco, CA

Review of the show:
Diva? Does a diva cancel 15 minutes before a show? Would Patti LaBelle do her fans like that? Celine? Diana? Mariah? Maybe so, but do they have the track record that Ms. Houston-Brown has for doing it? No longer can she be called a diva with a track record like that. It's ridiculous to say the least that you pay astromnomical dollars to "see" this woman and take the chance that she hit and miss with the vocals (have you heard her live lately?).

Notice how she been playing smaller venues this tour. And then those are not sold out. The big arenas would be a joke for her to sing in. You think her Washington D.C. fiasco of a televised concert has anything to do with it? Maybe her divaesque attitude? That husband? You try not to excite yourself because you know what she is capable of.

But the day of the concert is a beautiful day. The sun is shining, a small breeze blowing to keep the air cool, time is drawing near. You think to yourself "Oh Yes!!!" You're geared up for you think may be the last time this girl comes around town.

To our dismay in the Bay Area, we do not rate in Whitney Houston's trifling world. Seconds before the show was to go on she cancelled supposedly due to illness or money or whatever. Yet and still she cancelled.

"How Will We Know" if we can ever trust her again? She geared us up and stepped on our hearts and emotions. She was "Saving" us for last........the last laugh of the tour. Would she reschedule? No, not a mention of it. How heartbreaking to be let down a final time by someone you didn't really expect much from anyway. So why bother huh? Next time we won't.

When she worked with Missy Elliot on "Oh Yes" she should have said, "Girl, lemme do that "Bitch" song you wrote" I think she wears that title much better.
