~ Part Seven ~ Concert date: June 29/99 Venue: Molson Amphitheatre Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Review of the show: "It's Not Right But It's Okay"
Overall Impressions:
But be warned! You will most-likely not get the same thing at your WH concert in the MLIYL Tour. Don't go in expecting to get the Toronto concert on the outset, because you will be dissappointed. WH can not deliver perfect performances like this every nite for 3 months straight (anymore). Just go there with an open mind. If WH wants to wear ugly clothes, hey! That's fine with me - as long as The Voice is there, who cares what she is wearing?! I only wish I could have seen the last outfit for a longer period of time - she only wore it for the encore. It was very nice! WH didn't wear any gowns due to the cold weather. Oh well, that's OK too cuz I can watch her old performances for that. No big loss. Carlos and I were maybe 2 seats off dead center stage. If we had been to the right, then we'd be looking at WH's hair all nite, since she's always hiding the left side of her face, lately. But the Platinum Club gave us the left side of the stage, where we were looking at WH's face the whole entire time. Oh yeeees! You wanna know if WH's voice was BETTER than it was in 1986? The anwser is NO. And it will always be no. Only a phycho-fan can be blinded-by-love enough to say otherwise. You know I'm gonna tell it like it is. Sorry, but it will never go back to that. You can't turn back the hands of time. Just like you can't un-ring a bell... JFK Jr. will not come back to life... That sun has already set... But that is not to take anything away the fact that WH's voice in Toronto that night was at a plateau which it has not been in 10 years. That is a truly "great" in itself. Was it worth it? Was it worth taking a day off from work, travelling 10 hours and paying $150 for the ticket? When The Voice is in that kind of shape - oh yeeees!
