Review of the show:

"Until You Come Back"
Whitney did this song way better than at the AMAs earlier this year. It was very "Bodyguard-ish", which of course everyone loves. You couldn't help but sway to the 50's-style tune. This surely caught the attention of the older (adult contemporary) ppl in the audience. Her delivery certainly sold some MLIYL CDs... It is also very well placed, after "SAML4Y", since it's a similar theme. It's like the 90's version of this 80's classic... OK, not really, but U get the picture. This song totally rocked! Whitney: please don't wait another 10 years until you come back to Canada!

"Oh Yes"
drama. Drama. DRAMA! You know it's gonna be good when WH gets her microphone stand so she can conduct the band with her arms/hands. WH stopped the song at several key moments to dead silence (Canadian audiences don't really talk during concerts, so when WH stopped, it really stopped cold! no pun intended!) to make it even sexier. Truth be told, I can't stand this song on record, but it was another Whitney that was singing the sultry lyrics in that nite in Toronto. WH managed to endear this song to me. Oh Yeeees!

"Exhale (Shoop, Shoop)"
I would have rathered an 80's song but anyways. Whitney made this otherwise dullish song come to live with her interminable high note ad-libs. It's like she was showing off. Telling me "I know U thought the days of my high register were almost over, but "look at me... look at meeeee.... I am changing.... I've got my life together now...." [hear it: IAC 86] The crowd didn't really "shoop" with WH, reflecting the "Adult Contemporary" audience for which this wasn't a big hit (in Canada). But who cares, as long as I hear those high notes of the good ol' days.

"I Learned From the Best"
This song was done very well -- better than any of the TV performances (Oprah Show 98, Jay Leno show, Europe 99, etc.) without a doubt. She crooned thru the song and at the end, she held that note just like on the record -- maybe even better. You know those other "divas" can't hold those notes like they do on CD when U see them live, but Whitney can!
